Hey guys, I have a lot of very nice avi video files that I donwloaded from this website and others, most are for the Rockets game highlights, etc. The only problem is I would like to put these files on a CD so I can play them in my DVD player as VCD files; the DVD player doesn't play Divx (avi) files, so I figure I need to convert the files to a format that I could play on my DVD player. I downloaded a couple of free softwares that convert from avi to vcd format (The program has a generic name like "AVI to VideoCD MPEG-1 Encoder Ver 1.1), but for some reason when I try to encode an avi file I have I get the following message: "(insert name of file here) does not have acceptable parameters". What does that mean? And do you guys have any tips that could help me out here. Thanks in advance
I've taken the long route. I save them out of premiere as raw video (huge AVI files). Then I convert those raw AVI's to whatever format I want.
If you have Nero, you can let it convert the AVI to VCD. It takes a long time to encode and it might not even fit the size of the CD. If you don't care about DVD quality, look into KVCD. It's on par with VCR quality. You're better off doing what Droxford recommended.
TMPGenc Canopus Procoder procoder is expensive...but works great...TMPGenc is easy to use... http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tp.html that link gets it for you for 14 days...then you have to buy a unlock code...but in 14 days you shoudl be able to get most of your stuff done
You know what's funnier, HEAD, is that he is getting pr0n videos, as you called it fixed, from ROX games.
Why did I have a hunch that someone was going to say that? OK, NO! I assure you that there is no p0rn, it is Rockets stuff, some of the top plays from seasons passed from VC, Shaq, AI, and others. So they are mostly highlights of NBA games. But rest assured if I needed help with p0rn stuff, you would be the first person I ask rockHEAD
Alright, thanks for the help guys, I have this freeware called "VC Galaxy DVDRip ComboPack v2.7" I tried to convert a 50MB avi file (one of R2K's Rockets highlights clips) and it was taking forever to do just 10% of the whole file, so I had to cancel it and retry again later on tonight, because I had to leave and be somewhere. Anyways, I will be getting a DVD RW drive pretty soon in the mail, so I will probably just wait and burn those avi files on my DVD discs. I hope that works without having to convert the files to some other format.
I really think you should give TMPGenc a try....it should convert the avis to mpeg in a decent time...for the highlight clips...no more than a hour or two.....Ill try it on mine and see how long so that you have a baseline to work with.
