In lieu of the Rox having to wait a year for another championship, I have to say I caught an awesome, and I repeat.. awesome movie.

This was an incredible, moving, thought provoking, powerful piece.

Both myself and my friend want to see this...having both worked there, it'd be interesting to see how Enron is portrayed, spinned, etc...

FFB....I assume you are talking about the movie "The Smartest Guys in the Room". I want to go see it but I haven't had time. My folks saw it and said it was great. I still can't believe how many people were affected by Enron's collapse. I can only hope that our judicial system sends Lay, Skilling and Fastow to the poorhouse as well as the big house.

That's the one. A really interesting take.

My opinion has always been that Enron used the "Wimpy" strategy.

I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

It's better than that horrible TV movie a few years ago, isn't it?

IMO, Lay hired Skilling. Skilling came up with the idea of making a market for gas trading. A GREAT IDEA.

Lay was so impressed, he pretty much bowed to Skillings new ideas.

The Gov't came up with the idea of "mark to Market" in the Early nineties. This lead to co's being able to create "future hypothetical earnings" on companies they create. A novel idea, but one that was bound to be corrupted.

Skilling hired Fastow to be their CFO, and create new Companies, knowing that Fastow would probably skim csome off the top, which he did.

The real b*stard, according to this movie, is an asian dude that was the CEO of EES, Enron Energy Services. He corrupted the hell out of the place and took off, leaving the others to clean up.

I left the movie thinking that Lay was/is a moron that left way too much control in other's hands, and thinking that Skilling took a Great idea and tried to copy it over and over, to little success.

Unfortunately, he kept hiding his failures, and it eventually caught up to him.

I felt that Skilling was a pu**y for bailing the ship early, but I also felt, until he left, that he truly thought he was just one success away from turning it back around.
