Hey ima, what was the last thing the drummer said before he got kicked out of the band?

"Hey, guys, I've got a great idea for a song!" :p

More about my real job - it's the time of the semester when I get these:

-That I live in my office and should always be found there. (try one of my two email addresses or three phone numbers. If I wanted to be chained to a desk from 8-5, I could be making a lot more money doing it elsewhere.)

-That we must make significantly more $$ than those teaching in K-12.

-That we make out exams several days ahead of time.

-That we grade everything immediately after it's handed in, like a grading machine. (instead of other work, or other activities, or resting up from staying up all night making out the exam)

and now, hope you don't mind if I use this thread for a little percussion talk:

So glad to hear someone say this! Not only the drummer stereotypes, but... (especially speaking from symphonic & wind ensemble experience)

-People picking up my mallets, hitting a bunch of random notes on the xylophone, and saying, "See, I can do what she does." Assuming that anyone could pick up a stick and hit things just as well as we hit them. (Not to mention that no one picks up a random violin and plays it, or picks up someone's horn and blows into it, but they all have to try out our stuff during breaks.)

-People thinking percussion instruments are furniture. People thinking vibraphones and timpani are tables. *shudder*

    - People thinking our accessory cabinet and table can be used by the music librarian if she needs a place to spread out. It's not like we needed the surface to put things down on, or the drawers to get instruments out of - right? Also, people thinking we don't need chairs because we don't sit down. Just because we stand up to play doesn' t mean we plan to stand for the entire rehearsal.

    I control information.
Uzzi's and sub machine guns are often of use.

    Web Developer:

    1. Because I know about websites, I can fix your computer. I can't.
    2. Because I know about websites, I can fix your vcr, remote control, tv, radio - fill in electronic appliance here - etc. I can't.
    3. Good websites are really easy to build and take like a week. They don't.

Man, I used to hate that. I feel your pain.

What about Phil Collins? Nevermind. Bad example...
