No one is being a downer. Just realistic fans. Of course us real Texans fans want CJ to be successful, or show that he is closer to rookie year than the last two years. Being realistic and not looking at things through rose colored glasses is the difference
Now you are talking. We all want CJ to do his very best and he did show signs in his rookie season. That Pats game is a downer and we can all wish for a different result but that's not how the football bounces. Between him losing his nerves, and losing his "accuracy", the top 2 receiver/TE not playing, not to mention the top RB not playing at all whole season, add in a sprinkle of snow and cold and you get "worst Playoff performance of the century" or something like that. Certainty he failed that day. But this is a new season, and the team seems to get the message. (build up the OL for a strong run game, get a bull for primary RB) and continue to keep the defense elite. Imagine CJ regains his mind/accuracy and with this new potential running game and still elite defense. And they don't play a 1st play schedule. 2026, COULD, BE, THE ONE... One can hope.
I don't trust him because I don't think he's good. Once the NFL figured him out he crumbled. It wasn't just the bad OL(which is hopefully addressed) or the run game that Montgomery should help him. He missed wide open WRs. Doesn't know how to run and worst of all he's infatuated with California. They can have him.
There’s being realistic and needing to be right all the time. You didn’t like CJ coming out of college, you ate crow for like a single day and hated it so much that now you get so loud about him being bad. And what’s more, most of your loudest arguments are about players and coaches being bad. Looking for positives in your team is part of being a fan, it’s not just rose colored glasses.
You must have me mixed up with someone else. If anything I’m overly positive on most of our players. I didn’t want CJ at our most important position. I also ate crow for a lot longer than that. I haven’t said anything about him except the truth. I know you’re a CJ fanboy, so it’s hard for you to actually see reality
Yeah, no offense but I'm not exactly taking criticism from someone who refers themselves as "BMoney" on a message board seriously
I think you have me mixed up with someone else.. I am not a CJ fanboy. I’m a Texans fanboy. I did not want CJ, I’m a Buckeye fan who saw his flaws and knew the track record of Ohio state qbs in the nfl. I ate crow, but also didn’t get into fights with people online about it and definitely haven’t come back with this told you so attitude. You can call it “being realistic” all you want, but the way you do it is smothered in this need to be right and making sure every poster here knows it or else they’re just rose-colored fanboys and no in between. Also, you were dead wrong on Richardson and Levis, but apparently that’s only because “he isn’t living up to potential you saw in him” and not just being wrong like we are for thinking Stroud can turn it around.
Dude, you have a ton of projection going on here. You are putting words in my mouth that I never said, just to fit your preconceived notion of what you think I’m doing. Relax. I did not want Levis or AR, I specifically said I would take them for their physical upside. My first choice was always Anderson and IF we took a QB, it was Bryce. I don’t have you mixed up with anyone. I genuinely don’t care what you think. I’m just not going to let you sit there and lie about what I said or didn’t say. You said I’m overly negative about our players, that couldn’t be further from the truth and is a flat out lie. I haven’t said “I told you so” one time. I haven’t even been posting much. In fact I hope he’s as good as his fanboys say he is.
Food Fight. Nevermind Old news. you are the one poster that absolutely hated the pick of CJ and you are the one that is out now for blood. When you call others "fanboys". That tells me all I need to know about how you feel. I have no skip in this game. But I do think you give the dude at least another chance. This is no other option unless you think Davis Mills is it. Trade for 3 1st. Well, that can happen but it won't since he will need to be worth 3 1st and unless he is good enough to least this team to the SB, he is not worth 3 1st. But then you won't trade him if he leads you to the promiseland.
I’m not saying get rid of him. I realize the best thing for the Texans is him becoming a top half QB. I haven’t said anything negative about him in a while. Except for the actual facts. Also, I was for sure not the only one who didn’t line
Should we assume that Houston isn't picking up CJ'S fifth year? When is the deadline for them to do so?
