This war is such a self inflicted wound by our dear orange leader.

The strait of hormuz was open now its closed bc we decided to invade iran at Israel request w/ warning that they r weeks from developing nukes. Israel been saying that sht for years with weeks timeliness.

Now we r pissing away billions which could have been used for the benefits of the American people (infrastructure, Healthcare, etc) for this pointless war that won't resolve anything. With this deadlock and poor negotiation skills by the trump administration, its probably gonna take a ground war to just open a strait that previously open

Securing the Strait sounds like a fool's errand. Sure, you might be able to secure it for a little while. But, you can expect constant attacks. And, Iran...all they have to do is keep harrassing, firing, mining, shooting, etc. ...but they only need to succeed at some level not anywhere near a full level. And, what good would it do because then think of the amount of money it will cost to keep the Strait open over time. It will be completely unsustainable and Iran knows this. This is what they want! All Iran has to do is wait it out and keep up the resistance scoring some hits. And, let's not pretend that they don't have plenty of drones and missiles and mines and torpedoes left. Finally, we're not sending troops inland to their cities because we know that outcome and the number of troops needed and all of the costs. And, nobody is going to stand for a full ground invasion. What good is keeping the Strait open spending boatloads of money without the permanency? Sure, you might have temporary success or it could turn into a disaster. Without an actual regime change and a vote for a new government by civilians, then the regime change is a pipe dream because that will take a full-blown ground war. There has to be a deal. There is no other way.

The real issue here is both sides need to come down from their extremist "my way or the highway...I want all this" positions and actually compromise. The problem is Trump backstabbed them twice before. So, Trump can threaten away I guess. If you see this ending well, then you've ignored history. We've done stuff like "help Iraq fight Iran in the '80s, helped Afghanistan repel the Russians, occupied Afghanistan/Iraq"...how did those end up? We ended up fighting Iraq in a war trying to contain it (just like here), OBL gave us 9/11 from Afghanistan, we laid the conditions for the creation of ISIS to take over (and, had to fight them), and we surrendered Afghanistan back to the Taliban and Iranians swarmed into Iraq. There hasn't been a war won by America since WWII in reality. Sure, we've declared victory multiple times...even prematurely. But, what happens next is indeterministic and likely problematic. Else, you are spending money to enforce peace and it never lasts.

Trump decided "this is a good time to set them back...wiping out infrastructure, leadership, and capabilities". Even used some BS story about Iran having a bomb in 2 - 3 weeks (which he changes to 2 - 4 weeks later...lol). Overstated the current threat to support his narrative obviously. We might now have a worse regime to deal with of which we helped create. Iran has the oil funds and aggressiveness to build back fairly quickly and expand on what hasn't been lost. And, Iran controls the Strait. And, you played your cards and this is what you got. Now, you going to occupy the Strait? And, for how long? Until a deal? Back to compromises.

The world needs an off-ramp. And, let's not pretend that America doesn't. Our "allies" are basically hostages in all this. The country monetarily cannot afford this. The environment cannot afford this. Nobody can afford this.

In my book, the only way this was a good idea is if there was an actual regime change outcome with an elected government by the people and for the people. That's not happening. Have we bought ourself time from further confrontation...especially without a regime change to one representative of the civlian population's interest and moving the world forward versus just trying to destroy Israel? Lol. My Magic 8-ball says "Doubtful". Even with a comprehensive deal of which either side can violate and break (as we know they will), the Strait can be held hostage by Iran at will if things go awry at any time. Trump found the true Achilles' heel of why this was a bad idea in the first place. Just didn't see it because of naivety. According to him, didn't even see Iran lashing out at allies. Lol.

I'm done. Hope it all works out. Good luck! Find a deal...fast! Trump won't get everything he wants. That's just the way it is and let's not waste time pretending otherwise.

In summary, we need a TACO and I'm betting on a TACO of some sort. And, my bet is buying up Nvidia stock (while down and going down) using Chevron stock sales profits in my retirement account positioning for the future rebounds. :)

They need to come to an agreement, even if it's not everything Trump wants. If he sends in troops on the ground there will be mass casualties. It's not worth the risk of the lives of our troops to be forced into this situation.

Iran 'readies one million troops in preparation for massive US ground invasion'

Iran has claimed it is readying more than one million fighters to unleash "hell" on American troops if the US launches a ground invasion of the Middle Eastern country.

Citing a military source, the state-run Tasnim News Agency reported that regime fighters are growing increasingly eager to create a "a historic hell for the Americans on Iranian soil".

The source claimed that young Iranians have been applying in their droves to enlist in the army, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the volunteer Basij militia.

They also issued a dire warning to President Donald Trump, urging him not to attempt to seize control of the vital Strait of Hormuz.

The buildup comes amid the US President's threats to seize and occupy Iran's Kharg Island.

If we put boots on the ground Hegseth needs to lead the charge and show what a courageous warrior he is, instead of threatening Iran from the Oval Office in a suit, as he kisses Trump's ass, and ships off our troops.

Reasons Trump may follow through with his threat:

1.) Legacy - Trump is trying to have his "Look at what I did...I'm so great!" moment to trump all his other negative press. How much this influences his warped mind...?
2.) Mid-terms - Trump believes that the only way to win mid-terms so he can keep up his unchecked power is to outright win the war while Iran gets on its knees. That kind of wishful thinking outcome is just that imo. Thinks he can bring them to their knees for surrender? That's delusional.
3.) TACO - Trump doesn't want to hear about how he chickened out at the last minute. He's acutely aware of this stigma.
4.) Sent troops - Troops are on the way and we paid to send them; start thinking about what they can accomplish and talking it up to support action; these people under him already kiss his ass...now they get to blow some smoke about the outcome.
5.) Deal terms - Trump can't declare victory (we know that's false) with the terms of the deal he may get (or what Iran agrees to) as far as trying to sell how it was so much better than before. Then, people will see it as a war loss.
6.) Overconfidence combined with naivety - Can't really understand what you are getting into until you go in; feeling like we know exactly what they will do and have a handle on all of it; didn't foresee certain outcomes due to ill planning from just not knowing.

This is worth a second look.

When I first saw this I thought it was downright creepy. Even when asked questions about the war in Iran Trump couldn't help from his mind wandering back to lusting over young girls.

He got all gushy over Dana Perino when he asked her if she remembered having lunch with him at the base of Trump Tower years ago when it was a brand new building. Then he says she hasn't changed, saying she may be even more beautiful now.

Trump Tower was opened in February of 1983, and she would have been 11 years old at that time, and Trump would have been 37.

Think about what he said and let it sink in.

Perhaps the FBI Director Patel needs to go now. "You're fired!"

Do we really want a hacked FBI Director running the show?

    Don’t care.

This is what most of them wanted.

They leveled Gaza and have stolen land in Lebanon.

I can’t do anything about the billions we give them, just to give it to them.. even with an already high standard of living. I can’t however never vote for one of these Israel first sellouts again.

Trump, Huckabee, Biden, Fetterman, Graham and many many others.
