I don't think removing any of those people improves the Rockets unless the removal involves bringing someone better back in exchange.

No Tilman? He's the first who needs to go and the least likely to leave.

They come as a package...Stone constructed the roster per Ime's preference of players.
We have a bunch of forwards who hustles just like Ime and can't shoot for **** like Ime during his playing years.
You have to fire both to create a new path for this team.

Most likely to occur is whoever significantly under performs in the playoffs is traded in the offseason for a player to address shooting and/or perimeter playmaking. Stone and Ime will likely be back.

I know everyone wants to pin this on a single person but there's just no way in the longterm to have an elite offense with Amen/Sengun as non shooters and no way to have an elite defense with Reed/Sengun as poor defenders.

You have to be able to run a PnR and you have to be able to defend a PnR.

The one move that would yield the best improvement in 2027 would be trading either Sengun or Amen as part of a package that gets us a 2 way perimeter playmaker and a 2 way big.

You left out Durant as a poor defender so if you have him with either of Sengun or Reed then you have two poor defenders.

Ime I feel like can be somewhat remedied by bringing in an offensive lead assistant if he's open to it. If he's not then he should be canned because the current offense is high school level.

Stone is on the hot seat for sure but I think he's at least earned another offseason to show that he has a long term plan. On paper, this last off season was pretty good. But if it goes by and the team is largely unchanged, he can go before the deadline.

Unfortunately, the real answer should be FVV. This season was supposed to be the year we made a push but ultimately fell short and we realize that point guard is the upgrade spot but, in a cruel twist of fate, him being injured forced us to kick the can down the road and we'll have to come to that conclusion sooner. Hopefully there's still enough time for that.

I am Kevin Durant all the way. Not too many of you were even mad at Ime pre-Durant.

I agree i think the rumors of a soft power struggle are true that Stone wanted to force Ime to play Reed Sheppard, so he refused to trade this season. if that's true and he was willing to ultimately ruin team chemistry and destroy this season because of his Ego to force Ime to play a certain player a certain way, then that's malpractice and Ime being stubborn is a fireable offense for him too. So Tillman should do like the Nuggets ownership and clean house. They have clearly caused a bad working environment and screwed up team chemistry.

I voted for Stone, somply because of his statement, "IT'S JUST NOT OUR YR".

But I think its going to be Sengun.

I think if we can get a wing who can score at a high clip and a center who is effective in the PNR and that can shoot outside of 10ft, Sengun is gone

    Out
    Sengun

It won’t happen - but they should trade Sengun for the draft pick to take Acuff from Arkansas.

6 years is long enough for Stone and most GMs have a tenure of about that long before a change is made.

The Rockets are at a crossroads. This season is on track to becoming an abject failure after they told us things like “this is no longer a development team.” Make no mistake, their goal this year was championship. Now you’re left with a young core that lacks any star potential (although can contribute as role players) and an aging superstar inching closer to retirement. I guarantee you that this is not what ownership envisioned when Stone sold Fertitta on his plan to tank for the Rockets next superstar to replace Harden.

It’s time for someone new to come in and make the right decisions for the future of the franchise.

I would start by trading KD so you can get a FRP in next year’s draft. Let’s face it, KD is never going to win a championship here so you might as well trade him now to a team like the Knicks so we can get something in return.

Ime my #1 but FVV is gonna disappoint so hard next year. Can’t wait for the “fire stone for not trading FVV” threads

No western or eastern conference contender right now would start FVV

Sengun ain’t getting you a top 7 pick. Now Ameiz on the other hand…

Would you trade Ameiz for a top 5 pick in this draft? I might.

I think Ameiz the prospect (not current player) would go 4th or so in this draft too.

It'd never happen in a million years because Stone is too risk averse but id trade Amen while his value is high. I think he's more of a regular season player and his inability to create for himself outside of transition combined with his lack of shooting isn't something you can get away with especially if you're adamant about getting Giannis. A Giannis Amen lineup cannot work. I keep saying our main issue is the lack of reliable ballhandlers and shooters, and he's neither. We've been missing that since 2021 so he's VERY dispensable for me.
