I don't want to get in the middle of a credibility fight between Iranian leadership and Donald Trump.

If Trump caves in an Iran deal. What’s stopping Iran from using the straight as leverage on any future deal. Knowing that they can use the straight as hostage and Trump won’t do anything. This make the US weaker going forward. What ****ing dumb idiot going to war with Iran with no real purpose or goal

 

I can see this going one of two ways.

Either Donald is going to realize how much he's been playing with fire and will back off a bit from the warmongering for a while.

Or

He's going to find the weakest, easiest to punch down on victims he can locate and go to town on as many as he can so he can feel big and strong again.

The first is the rational, sober response. The second is the emotionally needy, ego driven response.

I know which I consider more likely, but maybe I have TDS.

trump is lying to manipulate the markets. He's done it a dozen times thus far. He's stuck, the iranians are not going to negotiate, there is no reason for them to. Like before, the US can just turn around and go back on its word whenever.

Look for the strait to be closed for a couple of months at the least and high gas prices for the foreseeable future

I definitely sense the exhaustion and it’s a very positive sign. There’s only so much debt, Xanax and overtime a society can take. Americans have been squeezed of everything and they sit at the sad cliff of “well, at least we’re not a third world country I think”.

I wonder though, when do people take to the streets like they did Iraq? Because yelling it into a social media platform doesn’t have anywhere near the same effect of striking fear into the bosses.

 

Yeah, I mean listen, this war was really a dumb idea I'm not defending it, but let's not pretend that an Iranian press release from their foreign office that brags about them winning the war and pressing forward until they achieve all goals is credible.

Iran has been rocked and the regime will survive as a fraction of its former strength merely because no one has the will or desire to put troops on the ground to go all the way.

 

Honestly at this point even if we hate the mullahs, you gotta start wondering why they didn’t just build the ****ing bomb. No one is ****ing with the North Koreans anymore. If you’re going to suffer, at least finish the job.

What possessed them to tip-toe on the line and invite the wrath of everyone? That’s the worst strategy of all. Either go all in or stay away.
