Tari's problem is that he is trying to be more than he is, and he is bad at it.

If he would accept who he is...a defensive specialist and 3pt corner shooter and rebounder - he would thrive.

Agreed, although I still think even in that limited role he is just a mistake-prone player. No matter what role you put him in he’s going to foul 3 point shooters and have back breaking turnovers.

I would ratherJosh take all of his minutes. He’s better at everything Josh can do except rebounding

Udoka loves Tari cuz both of them are dumb as ****. Took Udoka 90% of the season to realize Reed can help handle the ball since KD needs help on double teams and then he signs off on Tari Dumbson to inbound instead of Sengun who is taller and actually has a brain.

    Thank god for Amen.

I still like Tari and he would be a good bench players for years to come. That being said, if Alexander Walker only gets 15m and Walker is a superior player, I don't know if we can offer Tari more than Walker and Tari probably won't accept that amount.

He will accept it if it’s the largest offer he can get.

Tari is a RFA after this season. Rockets cannot offer him anything.

One guy at a time, dismantling a young player is different than dismantling a 37 year old.....

Your whole team's time line goes to shet.........when Alpe is next.....

This maybe why they are letting him show his TRUE self. Do you see a multi year @ M20 per coming his way? Tari has saved Stone from himself. This is what Tari dropped on draft night.

The boneheaded plays are just the bad you take with the good. He's an agent of chaos, has always been, it's his biggest strength and his biggest weakness. He should not be starting or closing games, but he's a great guy to bring off the bench when you need to shake things up.

What sucks is how poorly he's shot it recently. I've never seen this level of regression from a shooter before, it's astonishing. I thought maybe Tari's true talent level was 38% from three, but he would still finish the season around 40% due to his hot start. Somehow in about 5 weeks he's gone from a 49% three point shooter to a 37% one. Guess I may have been dead wrong in thinking that some amount of his improvement as a shooter was for real. It looks like his true talent level may just be right around league average after all.

But y’all came for my throat when I use to say trade Tari for the last 2 seasons and how low IQ he was. Y’all wanted to keep him over Jabari and thought he was a big piece of the core

Law of averages, no way he was going to keep pace at 49% unless he is an elite shooter. Did Curry ever average 49%? If he stays around 38% rest of year it's still pretty good for a role player.

    ?

Restricted doesn’t require the player to get an offer sheet. Why would the Owners or Union agree to that?

Restricted doesn’t mean the home team can’t offer a contract … see Capela’s RFA signing in 2018.

Restricted means the player can’t leave without the home team being allowed to match.

So, Tari for cheap in the off-season?

Hopefully, he can get over whatever is in his head. Not inking a deal, whether that was because of him, his mom, or advice from elsewhere, seems to have put him in a pressure cooker, and he’s breaking as the season ends. Remember how he started out of the gate awful and settled in later (he was even the top 3-point specialist in the NBA for a stretch)? It seems he's back to pressing again.

Much like Ariza in his first year with the Rockets. But is Tari going to learn the right lesson?

Tari used to be one of the most liked guys on Clutchfans. I think the contract situation, his injury issues, and the seemingly unwillingness to accept a lesser role even when he has been playing extremely bad in the past month and a half create a huge disappointment.

Look at Sengun. He was also one of the more popular guys before this season. There are always haters for almost every player. But you can sense the general vibe. Now a lot of people want to trade Sengun.

Reed is now the darling. I'm sure if he turns into a bad player with bad attitude, he'll get lot of hate too.
