Just some random thoughts on the draft after completing several mock drafts.

1 Kayden McDonald will be the first DT selected. He can play several different positions on the interior defensive line in a 3-4 and a 4-3 and will be highly sought after.

    2. Peter Woods will drop in the draft, but will not get past the Bears at 25. He's a true 3 technique and not many teams are looking for a 3 technique early in the draft.

    3. Reuben Bain Jr and Akheem Mesidor will drop in the draft. Both will fall to the 2nd half of Day 1. The teams that need an Edge player in the top half of the draft are running 3-4 defenses. Reuben and Akheem are more suited for a 4-3 defense. Teams will either select another position or go with Edge's such R Mason Thomas or Cashius Howell early.

    4. Keldric Faulk should drop to Day 2 because he is 3-4 DE and there are not many teams looking for a 3-4 DE on Day 1.

    5. I expect Edge to be the position that the Texans select due to the amount of quality DE options that will be available at 28.

    6. Offensive Tackles will go early since there is a big drop-off in talent after Max Iheanachor. Francis Mauigoa, Monroe Freeling, Blake Miller, Caleb Lomu and Spencer Fano should be off the board by 28, In addition, Olaivavega will be a top 10 pick and Proctor will not get past the Steelers. Five teams have two picks in the 1st round which allows some team like the Browns and Dolphins to pick a tackle, and then pick up a offensive weapon.

    7. Kenyon Sadiq will be picked early. Watch the Chiefs as having high interest.

    8. WR Lemon and Concepcion will drop more than likely to the 2nd round. Both are slot WR and Lemon has been a Lemonhead during the draft process. WR Jordyn Tyson, Omar Cooper and Denzel Boston will all go in the 1st round.

    9. Ty Simpson will go in the 2nd round. He doesn't have the physical attributes you look for in a starting QB in the 1st.

    10. Defensive Backs Mansoor Delane, Avieon Terrell, Colton Hood, Brandon Cisse, Dillon Theineman, and Emmanuel McNiel-Warren will all go in the 1st round. The picture on Jermod McCoy is murky since he didn't play last year and nobody has seen him perform since the ACL tear.

    11. A combination of the following players will go in the first 15 picks. Fernando Mendoza, Caleb Downs, Sonny Styles, Jeremiyah Love, Arvell Reese, Carnell Tate, David Bailey, Mansoor Delane, Kenyon Sadiq, Olaivavega Ioane, Francis Mauigoa, and Monroe Freeling.

Agree. The guy I like after watching Price, Washington, and Coleman is the latter.

Maybe we could get him at end of the 3rd (trade up) or with our pick in the 4th.

Clay Patterson a DT from Stanford is a player that is not being talked about much, but would be a great scheme fit for the Texans Defense.

Blake Miller is hard to pass on IF we believe that he will be a quality, NFL, RT. However, based on the guys we've signed, I think Nick is preparing to draft another position at 28 or trade down.

Coleman is arguably the most complete and NFL-ready back in the draft.

At this point I think my preferred outcome would be Simpson still available when we pick at 28 and trade back with Arizona for pick 34, 99, and a 3rd or 4th rounder in 2027.

I was really hoping, before I started counting, that it'd be 35 or so guys. ;)

I just hope the Titans don't trade up to draft Love.

If they dont then I hope they draft Moss or Randle in the 5th.

If Monty goes down then you're back to Marks/Jordan as your lead RB's and that means more GL/Short yardage issues that we saw last yr.

He's really solid, can pass block and has great hands in the receiving game. Only thing he doesn't have is breakaway speed, he's a lot like Monty.

What need is bigger than fixing the GL/Short yardage issues. They were the single biggest issue on last yrs team.

    Uhhhh....no.

That was not the single biggest issue. It was sure as **** an issue, but the BIGGEST...no.

"Part of the biggest issue"...meaning interior OL...I'd totally agree with that.
