The Bulls did want Tari though I'm guessing if the Rockets really wanted they could have made it happen as most teams do... But Coby wants a contract too, he's a bit overrated (which is why the Bulls were shopping him) , and it would be bad to be paying Coby and FVV on this team all while having a guard with the potential of Reed watching them both from the bench. At the end of the day...I think the FO punted on this season once Fred went out. They really better hope Fred is going to come back and be everything this team needs. Moving Tari next offseason is what I want to see, not because he's a bad player, he's bad right now, but I think the role he has now is too big for him. He's at his best being a bench guy, coming in playing defense against a team that's rotated players out, causing chaos, then getting his butt back on the bench. The fact we have him handling the ball as much as he does when it should be 0 is hilariously a bad decision. Tari is as bad a decision maker as Durant is but with none of the shot making ability, so it feels like it is either a TO or a brick if he's asked to create anything.
the last 7 games he is shooting 0% from 3. Just shows you that under Ime you can start no matter how terrible you are at offense. We literally starting 3 guys that shoot under 30% from 3 right now and wondering why we're struggling.
Zero and I mean zero accountability. You can go 0-30 for threes (and have low iq) and still have a secure starting job over the third overall pick in the draft on a Udoka coached team. Udoka knows he’s got a guaranteed 6 more years ludicrous contract from awful Stone so he makes no attempt to appease the fans and will accept losing with Tari.
Why some people think he a good coach is beyond me. We’re almost 70 games into the season and the team is regressing! How tf do you let that happen
Because one of the worst PG’s in the league and a 15 min a game backup center got hurt. Get with the program hater.
Just wanted to update the numbers for Tari, Reed, and Josh since 2/10 when Tari's slump began. Tari - 52-158, 32.9%; 11-68, 16.2% Reed - 96-220, 44.1%; 57-140, 40.5% Josh - 18-44, 40.9%; 12-26, 46.2% Josh actually improved his 3-point percentage after going 1-2 last night. Ime is now starting a guy who's hitting 3's at a clip THIRTY PERCENT BELOW someone he used to trust as a starter. I'll also throw in that the minutes distribution last night was 31 for Tari, 27 for Reed, and only 13 for Josh. And the team is now 19-13 in games Tari has started and that includes 9-9 when Ime's beloved starting five of Alpi, Jabari, Amen, Tari, and KD are out there. Yes, Ime has for nearly a quarter's worth of the season now settled on a starting unit that's playing .500 ball. And he absolutely refuses to go away from that as they continue to fall in the standings.
Switch it up! Figure it out as a head coach. Even if those players were healthy, rockets were still predictable with their offense. Adam’s is just there to clean things up
I have grown to hate Tari Eason and his useless mom. Moody little b**** should’ve signed that contract when he had the chance. It’s so bad his mom has turned off comments on her twitter account because she’s obviously butt hurt that her golden goose is losing millions of dollars every game. This is what she reposted recently.
Tari's last 10 games: 1 3-pointer. And 0 in the last 7 games. That's not a slump, it's a catastrophe.
The 11-68 stretch is over a period of 17 games. That's over 20% of the season. When you suck for that long in consecutive games, you're not slumping. You're just a bad player. Jabari's much maligned struggles in January only lasted about 11 games over a 3 week period and he had 4 solid performances within those 11 games. Also, it's worth noting that for the entire season, Tari is hitting 41.8% from the field and 70.5% from the foul line. Both are career lows. So even overlooking this "slump", he's having a pretty lousy year.
For me, Tari has been the biggest dissappointment. I thought he would give us a lot more this year. He started out so well from 3 and now... its like his elbow is broken or a shoulder or his wrist. Heck, he is just broken and because of that, he may end up broke when it comes time to sign a new contract.
I don't even know if I want him here at all next year. Maybe if it's a one-year deal, so we're not stuck with him longterm in case he has another terrible season. There are just too many downsides to the guy. He's regressed offensively, he makes stupid mistakes on defense, and he cannot stay healthy. I refuse to believe we can't find an upgrade over him in free agency. Hell, we may already have one sitting on the bench in Josh.
Remember when the Grizzlies gifted us Dillon Brooks because his shot wasn’t falling, he had bad shot selection, and the internet hyenas said he’d be playing in China.
Dillon's numbers certainly weren't that great in 2022-23 with Memphis, but he never had a 17-game stretch(and counting) as bad as Tari that season.
Tari has to go, he is just not good enough, thinks he is, has an annoying Mom glazing him and stealing valor from her own son. Should let him shine, and GTFO the way. DD
