I see no reason to delay the inevitable. WC Teams with brighter futures than the Rockets San Antonio OKC Dallas Lakers (due to Luka) Denver (HOF'er Jokic still getting better) Minnesota (Edwards only 24 and getting better) To get anywhere close, Houston has to keep stockpiling top draft picks. Reed, Jabari, Amen are all #3-4 options. They don't have anyone close to being elite for the future to compete with premium talent.
Too late, by the time we rebuild, most of the draft assets will be awarded to Las Vegas and Seattle to spike up revenue. Our window for competition is over especially once the draft lottery is revised
I like the plays we had today, the first half was just bad. And of course some turnovers..ime really made some adjustments tonight.
He shot 37% (lowest in the league for a starter) and averaged 14 ppg last year. He's not a difference maker who is going to push you over the edge. Sengun may be young and talented, but is his slow, clunky style a good fit for the team? Does having a defensive liability expose guys like Reed? I'd rather go fully young and athletic than have KD ruining the flow so we can be a 6th seed.
Wouldn't surprise me if they protect the likes of FVV and .....he might still be on that roster. If not for a miracle, they are cooked.
Stupid comment. I’d tell you to go back to the Astros forum, but you suck at that too. At least I can make you go away for me. Ignore function works great.
Sorry, Harden is cool for 1 Season but we need Kingston Flemings and Darius Acuff. Some Boozerish Dybantsa.
Stone is about 2 years too slow in evaluating his draft picks. Even now he wouldn't make a move on any of these guys because he wants to get smoked in the playoffs to be triple sure that these guys won't magically turn into prime Michael Jordan in year 4 when their trade value has declined. He doesn't draft for fundamentals, IQ or shooting. The team's record last year was a lot of hustle and the right mix of gutsy vets. He misread that as a signal to get Durant and punt the rest of of the roster building. Bad all around. In the NBA either you have a cornerstone player or you keep shuffling the deck. Hence the tanking crisis.
Naw it’s impossible to compete truly with SA and OKC. Even Dallas when Flagg gets a team around him. The Rockets got good players in the draft, free agency, and trades… but they didn’t strike like our competition did. I do think Stone and Fertittas need to have all options on the table though. However you don’t need to blow it up for the sake of doing it. You’re never going to build a team that has that level of talent. You just have to be as good as you can be and hope for a year where Wemby or Shay might miss time or something. Just field the best team you can BUT keep going back to the well for as many draft picks as you can get.
