Would Dejounte be a realistic off season target to upgrade over Fred? Seems like one of the few starting guards we could trade for. Not sure what all it would take to get done Not sure if NO would take an expiring + 1st for Murray and role with Fears next year. I believe they benched him for Murray His 3pt might not be the greatest but Fred shot 30% as well lol. At least Murray can get into the paint Might not be thread worthy but been thinking about this trade since Murrays return
Would rather have Fred. I don’t think Murray makes his teammates better. He’s one hell of a scorer though.
I guess a 1st and expiring? Probably a little more. Memphis 2nd 2027? Not sure how much they’d ask or how much they really want him. Don’t know how much they’d ask value Fears. At this point Tari can go with Fred
Does Fred really make his teammates better? Besides a 2, maybe 3 playoff games, I was over him during last regular season. I would gamble with a PG who can get 20pts a night and get into the paint
I think he’d would be a solid upgrade over Fred for at least a year. His contract would be an expiring to trade the following year in which hopefully Reed could take over the spot. If not, we have the Nets 27 to try again lol I’m not sure what franchise guy you want to pair with Amen we could get our hands on?
DD rubbing his hands like Birdman reading this thread. Another disgruntled guard with domestic violence and tatts?
I just meant that I think we need to focus on consolidating whatever assets we have to go get a franchise guy that fits our timeline. If we haven’t identified a young player we can trade for, then we should be trying to get into the 2026 draft. I just meant that I think all other considerations re roster should be secondary. I’ve always liked Murray. Good 2-way player. He’ll be 30 next season. Glad he’s fully healed from his injury.
I’m down for that but that’s what Sengun & Tari should be used for. If all else fails a FVV for Murray in some way would be nice
I think trying to fix this team with more veteran acquisitions is the wrong direction to go, and I don't believe in Murray's ability to space the floor, as hot as he was tonight. His 3P shooting has been very up and down over the course of his career, and more down than up lately. So I would say no personally, although I do like him as a player. My preference would be to use FVV's contract as an expiring to acquire a bad contract and a draft pick, or something along those lines.
Who’s and how bad of a contract? I don’t want to add more vets but upgrading FVV should be priority if we aren’t consolidating for someone. Murray deal just an additional year which can be an expiring in a trade also. Murray trade seems most possible and simple. I am not saying Murray is the answer by any means but I think a clear upgrade over Fred at 34yrs old
