That's usually where we trip and fall.

One thing that hasn't changed since we acquired KD: we go in weak against losing teams.
You'd think the coaching staff would....uh, yeah, never mind.

    Trade for Joker or Giannis

I'm not against a consolidation move, but I don't want that to be Giannis .... he's too old and needs too much around him to be successful.

Don't know who I would target ... or who might shake loose.

I would look for guys no older than 29 - not sure if any of these guys would actually be available but a few ideas:
    - Deni Avdija - I'm sure Portland isn't going to let him go but he does fly under the radar a bit in the larger league so maybe less people competing for him than other players on this list
    - Bam Adebayo - I was saying this well before the 83pt game - he would solve spacing problems AND is the kind of paint defender you want backing Reed up
    - Jalen Williams - this assumes OKC is at some point going to have to choose between SGA, Holmgren, and Jalen Williams because the new CBA makes it nearly impossible to keep a team together with 3 max guys and it would seem a scorer and a versatile big is a safer path for OKC.
    - Franz Wagner - probably a pipe dream but technically Orlando has two very different players in Wagner and Banchero playing the same position - AND they have Bane making $40mil a year - can all 3 co-exist? Probably not but this boils down to whether Orlando still thinks Banchero is their franchise player.
    - Trey Murphy III - as long as NO is aimless and ill fitting, he is a potential trade target but this is a NO front office who continues to pay Zion for no reason so not necessarily a reasonable front office we are dealing with here.

Honorable mention: Desmond Bayne, Keyonte George, Brandon Miller

You’d trade 3 starters (and maybe Reed too!) for the “best point guard” available? That replacement PG better be prime Steph Curry or Chris Paul, otherwise I don’t see how that makes the team better.

(Also, Jabari as the starting 5 has shown to be a disaster.)

Whoever James Piercey is he is on this fan site 100% lmao

“I’m not trying to play favorites.”

But the says Sheppard has been “outstanding”. No criticism there after criticizing Amen and Sengun :D

And no one said simply put a stretch 5 with Amen. Yes 100% that would open up Amen’s game if he were the main duo with Durant playing pick and pop, screen and rolls, coming off curls, or 4 out ball with him around the paint. But also People have been saying get a stretch and another star like Giannis or a guard.

I think Amen will develop a consistent 3pt shot...he improved his free throw percentage and mid-range shot has gotten better this season.
Sengun refuses to shoot the 3 and is becoming a liability on defense...I'm for trading Sengun and keeping Amen.
The problem with our most recent play is Ime refusing to bench Tari and start Reed...

According to BBR shot tracking he hasn't gotten better at the mid range this season - shooting .344 from 10-16 feet while last year was .488.

(I want to trade both of them, they are both flawed beyond repair)

Yep this is the entire idea behind a salary cap.

Eason is as good as gone. I feel like he's playing with one foot out the door already.

That's fair and great data to prove me wrong from a statistical standpoint...I still think/see Amen has improved his game from last season while Sengun has regressed to some extent, but his struggles could come from not having a true point guard to get him easier looks. I think we should trade Sengun while his value is high to get Giannis if the price is right

Alpi’s shot looked good earlier in the season and his defense was better based on the eye test. He hasnt looked right since middle of December. He might be hurt, gassed, or both…

Also, I don’t think the team should do anything drastic this off season. Get FVV back healthy try to move DFS and some draft pick for a legit shooter to add to the bench and run it back. Its highly doubtful anyone who moves the needle becomes available without gutting the team.

Unless we can get someone like Ant or Luka.. there’s no reason to make any drastic change. Best move would be to attach some draft capital with some filler and bad contract (DFS) and get some legit shooters on the team. Run it back with a healthy FVV and another summer for the youngsters to work on they game…

Well where is your list? It’s easy to say that but if you have no plan then what’s the point?

We've had our disagreements about Amen but I can't agree with this more.

If a top 10 player shakes loose who actually fits our timeline and roster construction, I'm all for trading Sengun, or maybe even Amen. The problem is age 20-something top 10 players who are versatile enough to fit into a lot of different rosters almost never become available. That's why it's usually better to build through the draft and/or through trading for young guys who haven't broken out yet.

Would you do this trade? Sengun for Trey Murphy III, Looney. Basically Sengun straight up for Trey Murphy III.

I guess the question would be whether there's more there for Murphy or is this all he is? I guess he would improve our roster construction, but I don't know if I see a #1 guy.

I don’t really like season stats with young players that show different paces in their developments. I see progression in both Jabari, Reed, and Amen but that improvement is erratic as it almost always is with 23 year olds and below.
