I would have preferred a day 2 pick for a starter that has been mostly healthy his whole career. Or at least a 4th (I think 4th round picks are day 3, I could be wrong though).
Sure. Maybe since they gave up a 4th and 7th for Montgomery this makes sense. On the other hand, they only saved $4 million in cap space and they will stay have to replace him. Howard was their best lineman and could play guard and tackle. I get the rationale for not extending him, but this is another gamble on finding the right mix at a vital position group. Caserio has yet to put a competent OL group out there.
I liked Tytus, but lets be real, we were not going to sign him for $20 million, he is nowhere near that good, so it's a risk as in a body and Nick has not shown he can get GOOD lineman so yes, it's a risk, but hopefully a calculated risk...........Trent Williams anyone Now, I would pay $20 million for that guy on a short-term deal all guaranteed. I can dream cant I
But team gets a LOT of $$$ back next year (need that space for WAJ's new deal) You are hella right about the OL for this year tho... need to start seeing progress (we will find out in about a week)
I presume that Caserio has Ed Ingram and Trent Brown in the bag, so to speak. Otherwise he wouldn't have traded Howard, right?
