Another Islamic terrorist attack in NYC - Media attempts cover up

So what you are taking exception to is that these media outlets didn’t editorialize their coverage of this story in line with your opinion that Muslims should assimilate or be forced out?

 

The first article I read about it was that it was being investigated as an act of terrorism and it named the suspects. There was no hiding of their identity, and it wasn’t worded as an attack against the Mayor. Perhaps you should get in the habit of reading past a headline or social media post?

Also, I don’t know why you are asking me questions insinuating that I think attacks by Muslims are somehow ok. Do you just assume that if someone doesn’t express agreement with you on removing Muslim that they must therefore support Muslim criminals?

 

A few cherry-picked headlines is not a demonstration of this theory of yours.

Do I think Muslim criminals should be treated as criminals? Yes.

But I’m more interested in your claims about mainstream media and their supposed coverups.

Here is the core question though. You hold 1.8 billion people responsible for the acts of individuals. So apply that same standard consistently. Do you hold all white Americans responsible for El Paso, Charleston, and Tree of Life? Do you hold Christianity responsible for those attackers since most were Christian? If not, why does the standard only apply when the attacker is Muslim?

Because if you can't apply it equally, you are not making an argument about terrorism. You are just telling us which people bother you and wrapping it in a list of citations.

 

This could have been really bad and I'm glad these would-be terrorists are terrible at bomb-making. They will and should go to prison for a long time. As for Stros' complaint about the initial reporting maybe there's something to it. The first day, I was confused about what had happened exactly. Maybe that's from reporting bias and maybe that's from journalists' own confusion about what transpired, or some combination of the two. But mostly, I'm just disgusted by the rampant islamophobia in this thread. Even if the accusations against these two are all true (and they probably are), to go from that to assertions that Islam writ large is barbaric, murderous, incompatible with American culture, and that Islam and Muslims should not be welcome in the country at all is some highly offensive bullshit.
