I think he's playing too well for this toxic team. If I were him, I wouldn't play today while ill. The coach who found his rhythm and benching is one thing, the teammates who didn't come to his aid are another, and the fans who have been calling for a trade for six months are yet another thing altogether. He should say 'im injured i am not gonna play".
Sengun will be the next Jalen. He plays good in matchups where there is a weak center. When he squares off against anyone physically tougher he gets dominated.
It's getting hilarious watching Sengun smoke a bunny and then in a less than a millisecond stick his hands out and look at the ref to complain. It's a routine for him. He's perfected it. It's like clockwork.
Alpi needed to dominate stiff-ass Post and old-ass Horford. He did not, and in fact played one of his worst games of the season, even with him scoring some tough baskets down the stretch. I think he needs to do a lot of work over the summer, his shot has completely abandoned him and so has his touch. I believe in him, but I get just as frustrated as everyone else watching him evolve into a below-the-rim, low-efficiency, high-usage center. That is NOT his ceiling
I’d always been a no on trading Sengun for Giannis because Giannis is literally unwatchable for me, but atp, Sengun is even more unwatchable than he is, and is 10x worse so I can’t believe I’m saying this when it comes to Giannis because he’s a basketball terrorist, a basketball Bin Laden, but anything to get Sengun’s sorry ass tf off my team
Sengun has regressed dramatically in terms of his basketball IQ. His shot selection looks like Jalen Green. I don’t know what happened to him, but he’s definitely not the same dude. I would hate to lose him because I love what I know that he CAN do, he is capable of being great, but he’s not that right now. It might be best for everyone to move on.
only time you can expect Sengun to play well is against a tanking team, a rookie who has no idea how to defend him, or someone who is just overmatched physically if it’s not any of those 3, then chances are you’ll get what we got tonight or what we got against Miami “franchise player” tho
Would the Pelicans trade Trey Murphy for Sengun? I’d much rather have him Reed/FVV Amen/Okogie Murphy/Tari KD/Bari Capela/Adams
I just feel like the creativity and fire he showed in his first few seasons is NOT here right now. How much of that creativity is being stifled by Ime’s offense? Probably some. But a lot of it is on Alpi too, I think. I’ve been guilty of blaming coaching for everything wrong with our guys, but Jalen is still inefficient over in PHX, and Alpi’s offensive regression continues. On the positive side…nowhere to go but up! I don’t think he could possibly be any more inefficient than he is right now, and with Ime finally learning about spacing, apparently, this could potentially bode well for Alpi, and us? I hope?
Alpe is unfortunately not dynamic, fast or athletic enough to be the Number 1 option and Amen is not progressing as a shooter. Might as well just tank again.
Like idc if he is scoring or not he is not getting rebounds anymore. He only gets rebound lately against bad teams or teams with no bigs.
If either of them even figures out how to shoot a little bit, we’d look a LOT better. I can only hope
They look better but you would need a huge 3 level scorer that is not as small as Sheppard to be help them out. Either way you need another tall All NBA player type. Practically Durant's successor, preferably a more physical Durant, one can dream.
Has he been inconsistent? Yeah, absolutely. But he has played well against good teams with good defenders. For example, he has had some excellent games against OKC, San Antonio, and the Cavs, all competing teams with non-rookies that are great defenders. It's fine to get on him for games like tonight, but acting like he never plays well against quality competition is just not true.
