Another bad shooter is the last thing the Rockets need right now, let alone one who likes to dribble in isolation and refuses to play defense. Giannis and Ime is a match made in hell offensively. The guy requires elite high volume, high percentage 3PT spacing around him at every position. He’s a 6’11 Amen/Sengun combo, all he does is drive to basket and overpowers people with his athleticism, he’s not a natural passer, his mid range jumper is not good, he doesn’t have any range. He’s turning 32 this year, will want a mega max into his late 30’s. I think we should pass on this one. He comes here, we try to double big with him, we roll out non shooting wings like Amen and DFS, it will be a disaster, KD will age out, and then Giannis will get frustrated and demand out on a negative max. Ime isn’t competent, Stone isn’t competent, and Tilman isn’t competent. The odds of them making Giannis work here is like non. I hope we don’t make a move that backs us into a corner that requires elite decision making in a short period of time to succeed, this organization desperately needs leeway and luck.

Flights are on a geodesic. Miami to Athens is 11.5 hours, Chicago (milwaukee) to athens is 10.5 hours, same as NY to Athens. He's basically as close as he's going to get now. Also how often does he go to Greece? During the season, not at all (unless he goes back during his mounting injuries). Is he constantly shuttling back & forth over the summer? My guess is he goes once or twice for national team commitments , and then comes back so is really the 3 hours of flight time once or twice a year from LA that big of a deal? I doubt it, but then, Giannis says lots of silly stuff all the time that he doesn't seem to mean or that contradicts himself.
No, he is average as a " facilitator", with superstar-level usage numbers because, when Giannis is out and nobody else who's good on the team, he holds the ball and dribbles down the shot clock and then drives or passes - basically the same thing he did here that nobody wanted to watch. I swear to god when you were going off on this last week I watched a few bits of their games, and yeah, it was the same **** from 2023, no thanks. Again this is the fundamental flaw in your argument. The Rockets are already terrible about getting into actions quickly. KPJ offers you Harden level of tempo slowdown without the corresponding benefits of Harden's gravity (or gravitas).
I DO NOT WANT THIS. I was asking about Jabari at C because the sad truth is I believe this is Stone and Ime's ass saving move. I think Sengun and FVV + 2028 1st gets Giannis and then we sell it without any ability to add more shooters. Amen and Giannis go after the same things so basically cancel each other out. Amen could not start so you sub out Giannis with Adams and Amen. The drafts then become less about BPA and completely about shooting. Kyrie is another fallback option. Such a horrible recognition of talent and roster construction. Giannis' bully ball is already starting to break down and that's all he's got. He travels every damn play. Do you think they would let him get away with that in Houston?
