I saw it reported a bit ago that Trump is weighing backing one of the militias. There are two choices… make a deal with the IRGC that is basically Trump leaving, claiming victory while nothing being solved other than a lot of death and destruction or they back one of the rival factions or a democratic leader while also putting hundreds of thousands of troops in Tehran for years to ensure that new leader they are backing doesn’t get murdered in 24 hours.

This is not what I meant when I said: things I can verify with my own eyes.

But what you've shared is a theory that is shared by many in the gulf countries at the moment. Especially relating to the refinery that got hit in a neighboring country. Not a certainty. It's also possible the Iranian regime is hinting it wasn't involved in order to create chaos, the goal of which would be to plant suspicion in the GCC governments about the US/Israel/allies.
