How School Voucher Programs Hurt Students

    It's a good point. Why don't they just cap the vouchers for families making less than $180k, and put the surplus money in public schools?

    The stigma with public schools is they don't produce results - and test scores back that up. Even LCOL states spend up to $25,000 per child and half are not even proficient in reading and math in middle school. Expensive places like NY can be $37,000. So the frustration is understandable - some kids would be better suited for trade education from a young age. Or give families the choice to put the kids with a greater aptitude for structured learning in private school with that money, and the other kid can pursue other interests and skills.
