    all said, they did what few would have the courage to do. And they pulled it off. Credit. Criminals usually aren’t too bright, but seems like the risk reward would not be worth it. If they melt this stuff down my guess is the value isn’t that great vs the penalty for grand theft. So you gotta think they either did this to posses it, or someone paid them a ton so they could possess it.

    As a Frenchman... I really don't care about the jewels. Artifacts of a shameful period in the nation's history. I don't want thieves getting their own quiet enjoyment of them, but I don't exactly think they're a national treasure. Best off sold to some rich prick so France can build a hospital or something.

    I was once in the Houston museum of natural science and they had a jewelery exhibit that they held in a vault- I was more interested in the vault door and how massive it was, so I was inspecting it and in about a minute of looking at it, 2 armed security officers strolled by. They didn't say anything to me but just gave me a quick glance and I could only imagine they were there for me looking like a cat burglar or something. I laughed and am pretty sure they kept an eye on me through their monitoring system the whole time I was in the museum.
