Not sure how accelerating offshoring isn’t just shooting yourself in the foot. By trying to punish the executive class for abusing H1Bs, you’d actually be hurting American IT workers even more, which seems the opposite of what your principle is aiming for.

 

We have real areas of shortage that leave US companies at a disadvantage in the global economic system. It's much better to tune the system so it isn’t abused, protecting US workers while addressing the real shortages.

I didn’t know that part about the DHS. Discretion is good, but with this gov I have little confidence it won’t be abused for personal gain, just like it has been with selective tarriffs.
