My girlfriend is trying to open these files but am having difficulty helping her... does anyone know what they are? According to her she is trying to view a map on them or something. I can't find the programme required after having a look on google.

    Any suggestions?!

    .WRL files are VRML.

There are several different browser plugins to select from.

It has been my experience that the plugins seem to be happier with MS IE as the browser.

I suggest Cortona or Contact rather than Cosmo.

If you are unhappy with a plugin, let one of the other plugins takeover for .WRL files.

Thanks Mango. I tried it with Firefox before I started this thread and got some errors so I figured I was doing something wrong... I'm going to get IE and try with that.

No problem on the WRL question.

I poked around on the .SXD file type and found a mention of it possibly being a Drawing file from Open Office .

Open Office is a software suite of Microsoft Office type programs. Open Office isn't as elaborate as Microsoft Office, but does a decent job. It is able to export files in PDF format, so it does have some merit.
