Albert Pujols is the Lindsay Lohan of baseball. Transcendent start to a career, then the LA culture took hold and he ended up as a worn-out husk giving handjobs to rich Saudi’s for coke money.
    Helluva guy though.

Although I love everything about that, I think it’s more likely than not that he always was lying about his age. His career makes perfect sense if you believe he was 3 years older than his stated age and there’s definitely evidence that’s a distinct possibility.

Funny - I’ll just disagree on him being a helluva guy part. He is a POS person.

Also just not gonna convince me Pujols wasn’t juiced out of his mind for that last 20 homer season to get to 700. And I say that as someone who likes him and was glad he hit 700

Pujols as a medium outcome? So Hall of Fame as a medium outcome? lol

I love hearing that as he’s my most hated baseball player of his generation!

I agree, Pujols as a “medium outcome” would be just silly thing to say and deserving of an lol — medium is not a statistically rigorous term. Luckily I said “median”, which you have to admit is a lot more precise.

But also you are right that it’s not fair to predict a hall of fame career. How about we agree that Barry Bonds is probably more likely - he never made the Hall so surely no objection there?

Though I’d be a little surprised if Cam has more than 3-4 years with a 250 OPS+. It’s possible. Maybe even likely. But we shouldn’t count on it.

Cam Smith really can't be this good, can he? This would as big of a fleecing as Alvarez trade.

Didn't think of that - funny if true. Throws up 9 terrible years in a row on a massive contract, goes back home to STL with no stakes involved, juices and gets to 700. Glad the stros run a tight ship !

See these are the things we need stories for, like the why Andy P spent 2 years in Houston.

Don't care where Cam plays but he needs to play. The way the ball sounds coming off his bat sounds like a war crime.
