    AL Overall Standings (before 9/1 results):

    NY 79-57 —
    BALT 78-59 1.5
    CLEV 77-59 2
    KC 75-62 4.5
    HOU 74-62 5
    MINN 73-62 5.5

    The division is one race. The other is trying to get a top 2-seed for the all important first round bye and avoiding the best-of-3 series. If we assume one of NY/BALT grabs one bye, then we’re currently chasing Clev/KC for the other and entering Sunday 9/1 slate, The Astros are just (3) games behind Clev, a 1/2-game behind KC. Also important, tiebreakers. Houston leads season-series w/ CLEV 2-1 w/ 3 games @CLEV to close the reg. HOU v KC is tied 3-3 w/ today’s game deciding the season series
