Alperen Sengun is the Rockets' franchise player

Man. SGA has some tough critics here.

 

What a player is “worth” is dictated by the market and the market alone. If Sengun hit unrestricted FA, multiple teams would offer him a max. That means he’s worth it, regardless of whether that “worth” is sensible. This isn’t a situation where one team is overpaying to keep a young prospect — a bunch of teams would line up to sign Sengun at the max if they could. I doubt the same is true for, say, Franz Wagner.

 

You can doubt it all you want. There are 37 players making 25% of the salary this season (i.e., Wagner's max for 1st year of his extension). Wagner is probably a Top 40ish player right now (35-45) and is young. Considering the cap is going to be up 10% a year, his max contract will likely average about 24% of the cap. 45 players make 24 % of the cap. Quickley, Middleton, Ayton, Bane are the guys around the 24% mark. I think a bunch of teams would think Wagner will be better than Quickley, Middleton, and Ayton going forward on his next contract.

 

I think every single team would sign Wagner to his rookie max extension and think it was a great deal.

 

If u read the post. He could be top 10 sooner Or later I just don't think he is one right now especially if he's only the 3rd or 4th best center in the league.

The top 10 players should b the 1st and 2nd rank player at each position. Folks might have different players but like I said being a top 5 center doesn't equate to top 10 in the league

Turkey – Alperen Sengun

Many analysts agree that Sengun will become Houston’s franchise player sooner rather than later. The Turkish big man has the IQ of Nikola Jokic, but equipped with more athleticism than the former MVP.

 

No wonder that shot is sometimes off. He needs to practice with a real NBA ball, not one of those foreign jobs.

What can we do as fans to motivate Alperen?

 

Wish he would step it out to the 3pt line.

 

well someone told him he needs to muscle up. that is his only focus for the last few months. he is young, so I dont judge yet. but him holidaying for 3 months for 2 summers is a bit disturbing... since he should only focus on his work.
