If we didn't lay dead yesterday we would've been within one game of the Cubs (and my predication would become true). Two games back is still OK, as long as we beat up the Cards at home. I'm a bit surprised that the Giants lose two to the Dogers at home.
I don't think the Braves will slack off too much for the Cubs. Since the Cards have the best record, they will play the wild card team, unless that team is from their division, which the Cubs & Astros are. Therefore the Cards will play the NLWest winner & the Braves will get the Cubs or Astros. The Braves will probably try to knock the Cubs out of the wild card so they can play the Astros, whom they own in the playoffs.
Not that I don't want them to get into the playoffs, but the problem with the Astros is they tend to do just enough to tickle your balls. Once they get you excited, they quit trying again.
