If Bregman is one of the guys b****ing about the manager, **** him. Try not being one of the five worst hitters in MLB for the first 6 weeks of the season, then maybe you can judge the ****ing manager. Just like Correa, I have loved watching Bregman play for the stros but there’s certainly parts of him that rub me the wrong way, and I’m not sad Crane isn’t giving him $200M to stay.

We can all assume Bregman was one, but who was the 2nd? Doubt it was Altuve....Tucker? Yordan? Verlander? Seems like Verlander would.

Bregman deserves to be hitting 6th until he proves that he could head back to the top.

My guess would be Verlander. He’s an all time great and generally a good teammate but he certainly has diva tendencies. It’s easy to imagine conflict between Verlander and Espada over who catches and plays CF when he pitches as well as when he comes out of the game.

Leave it to a Bregman to use the Astros slow start to justify his really bad start to the season. One could argue that if Bregman was playing even at league average the team would have easily won 4 or 5 more games, essentially putting the team at .500 even with all the injuries at pitching.

He always starts slowly. Without a discount he wasn't going to be here anyways

There is still plenty of time for Bregman 1/4 of the season.

If you extrapolate his 2023 2nd half numbers over 121 games and add them to his current numbers, he finishes:

    .272/.370/.462/.832 w/ 36 doubles and 25 HR, 101 runs scored and 89 RBI. 87 Bb and 83 Ks.

    That will play.

If this kicked off his usual fast finish earlier than usual he could still have his best season since 2019.

He's an idiot and asking to get fire...well more like asking for his players to be disappointed in him.

Not sure but maybe Joe could use a couple of pointers in public communication? Earlier today we though Verlander had an injury and now this

Well, at least that would explain why he just stood there like a frozen corpse. Maybe it really was that obvious. He put up no fight whatsoever for his guy, so maybe it really was an obvious violation. If there is a 10 game suspension coming I guess we'll know.

A lot of negative talk about Bregman.

Yeah - his multi month slumps are incredibly annoying - but he is a leader on the Astros and one of the 3-4 most respected players by his teammates and coaches. He always plays hard, he puts in the work to be good, he fields his position well and he will die with a baseball bat in his casket.

This is his 8th season with the Astros - he has a career OPS of like .860 and averages almost 6 WAR per 162 games for his career. If the second half of his career is like his first half, he likely ends up in Cooperstown. He is basically Craig Nettles.
