Basically he has never done at 3 level scoring.....it would be different if he was averaging 30 pts on Over Time Elite, he did not. His midrange is just coming along on the NBA level but other scorers already had that bag in junior high. I do not even see Franz Wagner averaging more than 25 ppg and that is probably the best young Swiss Army knife type of player I can think of right now.
Disagreed. He's only average by Aussie standards. And it not so much about athleticism, although it is included, but about quickness and explosiveness. We were talking about players like Russ and Giannis. Those guys aren't really "three level scorer" either. They use their physical advantages to do high volume scoring. I am not predicting Amen will become like these guys. Just don't rule it out. Without a shot, I can envision him being a taller, smarter Westbrook without the gigantic ego... if he wants. Amen may be too unselfish to be a great scorer. Anyway, I was replying to a post that implied that Amen would be like Giddey unplayable in the playoffs without a shot. My point was that even if he doesn't develop a shot, he can still be a good offensive player because he has other tools to make them pay if they ignore him.
He is not a big leaper check. He is quick in transition. Check. He is not top explosive. Sneaky Explosive. Check. Sort of has a 1st step explosion. Check.
What goes for Amen also goes for Giddey because there is hardly an age gap......Giddey being like 3 and half months older....that is nothing. Giddey came into the league earlier. 2 season gap.
Giddey is a smaller version of Ben Simmons without the cowardice. Amen is a bigger version of Westbrook without the big ego. I know it's too simplistic. But comparing Amen to Giddey is kind of like comparing Simmons to Westbrook. Their games are totally different. Just because all of them are bad shooters doesn't mean they are equally playable of unplayable. Ignoring the other dimensions of their games makes the comparison nonsensical.
The comparison is more that both can get better at what they do and both can get better at shooting as well...... Nobody knows for sure ....but the safe side is to assume they are never going to be lights out shooter but that is the safe side.
OKC can’t stop Dallas on the offensive boards…the 1 weakness of having Chet as your C and Kiddey as the 2nd tallest person in the SL
Why are they even starting Giddey atp? Why do coaches stick with stuff that doesn’t work? He’s barely playing to begin with, why start him? You’re basically punting the beginning of every game
Imagine if Presti wasn't so stingy with his picks and traded for PJ Washington from the Hornets instead of washed up Gordon Hayward.
Thunder have at least 5 airballs this half Dallas: 47% from the field, 39% from deep Thunder: 33% from the field, 10% from deep
Dort, J-Dubb, Giddey, and Shai all have the same amount of shot attempts really inexcusable from Shai, especially when he’s the only one who can score
