Jokic and Doncic aren't stiffs, people just thought they were stiffs. It's the same thing with Sengun, people thought he was a stiff turns out he isn't.

If you're a stiff in the NBA you become Boban or Enes Kanter.

Jokic, Doncic, and Sengun excel not because they jump higher or run faster, they excel because they are really smart and work harder.

One day, you might be saying the same thing about Edey. Time will tell but point being, I wouldn't discount Edey because he looks slow.

There's an athletic threshold to be in the NBA, if you clear that threshold you can make up for your lack of athleticism with skills and smarts but if you are too slow then it doesn't matter how skilled you are. If just being smart and working harder is all it took to be in the NBA you'd have a lot more Asians in the league. You realize Japanese literally die of overwork right?

Do you know Luka Garza? You think if Luka Garza was 7'3 he'd be a star in the NBa?

I haven't watched Edey play enough to judge how he will fair in the NBA. The couple of games I watched fully, he didn't strike me as very skilled.

Big guys like Jokic and Yao are slow and unathletic. But you can tell by the way they play, they are skilled and have high IQ. I didn't see it in Edey.

Absolutely love this post and it is so true. Didn’t know that Edey had only been playing a few years before college. Life is full of risks….why not take one on a guy who averaged 30 points a game in the tournament and is 7’4”.

Bigs that are slow just need a ton of plyos and leg training. He's a 2-3 year project but a situational player right now.

You keep saying this. What aspects? The dude has not played a single NBA game and you know he's already better? How?

I doubt he lasts to the 2nd Rnd. If he does, he'll be pick #31.

If Rockets get any big in this draft I'm happy. There's plenty of options that will be there at #9 or there abouts.

Just genuinely curious why you think we need more big men with Sengun, Adams and Landale?

Yep. I see it too. Nobody thought Embiid could play the way he plays. He's not fast or quick, but he has footwork and skill. He's over 7 ft and 300 lbs and he's not winning any foot races either. I think people are really underestimating Edey skill level

    Copycat league.

Don't chase it, IMO. Won't beat the Yankees playing like the Yankees.

Really? Embiid is the 2nd or 3rd best prospect to me in the last 15 years or so, behind wemby and luka
