Planet of the Apes had a “socially progressive message.”

There are dozens more blockbusters like that which came out before “woke” did.

maybe it took us that long to land on a catchy term, coined to be used so broadly. Or maybe “woke” never meant that to begin with, and white fragility borrowed it, expanded it, and hid all their insecurities behind it, and now we are afraid to define it, …

… because to do so would expose our fragility

IIRC there are also other issues throughout the years. Like when Magneto had Asteroid M.

XMen V Avengers is kind of like Civil War
The Government basically wanted all mutants to register as weapons
    Avengers = Government agents
Xmen = f you we not gonna be tagged and bagged

This is literally the whole message of X-Men
It was an analogy to Racism

    The original XMen Versus Avengers
was the Avengers were tasked by the government to Bring in Magneto
    as a War criminal . . . .XMen were like Nah . . . He's a Civil rights Leader

interesting concept and storyline…not sure how the MCU could keep me invested long enough tho, I barely care anymore about anything they’re doing as it is…it would take many years to properly set something like this up

I look at other long running properties . . . 007, fast and furious, etc etc
    They all cannot be homeruns

true, but properties like Fast and Furious don’t even care about plot…the MCU is over 30 movies now and then u got all the D+ shows too…I’m just thinking about how many movies and shows it would take to set this up, and how many people will care by then

I like X-Men far more than anything else Marvel, I wish it was its own thing instead of trying to be a part of the current MCU

I was referring to the actual event series titled "Avengers vs. X-Men" (or AvX for short). There have been other clashes between the groups, like in the Avengers book with the subtitle "Avengers vs. The X-Men", The X-Men vs. The Avengers, Avengers/X-Men:Bloodties, etc.

Why did Disney change their marketing and writing style? The obvious is sometimes hard to see unless it’s shown to us. I fully understand that.

Lazy writing is what “they mean”.

I don’t have a problem with that. I have a problem with boring in your face lacking a story writing.

    Racism is bad.

    Puppies are cute.

Do you understand what I’m trying to get at even if it’s an issue you want to make more prominent? It kind of loosely relates to the same point Bastion was getting at? I don’t care if Sam Wilson aka Goober Mackie is telling me how I should act morally if there is no intriguing setup for why I should think about a morally complicated situation differently.

Edit…btw I don’t mean to come off as overly confrontational but man I could like the new Captain America a lot more if it wasn’t goofy Anthony Mackie. Does that point at least resonate?

i wouldn't mind mackie if he only shot that super serum up his butt. only stark and batman can be superheroes without being super. the rest are sidekicks. still dunno why they didn't give the shield to bucky.

Well, I'm asking you to show me where to start my research as you've obviously spent 1000s of hours learning the intricacies of this topic. Robbie I don't want to be some random idiot wandering through a minefield -- will you be my guide?

Meaning "white males" can't handle not being the center of attention, and their small scrotum retracts when that happens. Disney cannot afford to not focus on them because their disposable money has kept Disney making record profits for almost 2 decades.
