Students were praying!!!??!!?!? ¿! ¡? That's it. College students are evil as hell. Now I know. How dare they pray. How can a just society even allow them to live after these students prayed?

None of you have read the "Al Nisa" surah, where it is clearly stated that men literally own you and have the right to hit you if you refuse to have sex with them: "Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard.

You don't have to tell me about it. I get it. Peaceful protests are one thing, even when I disagree with the protesters. But these protesters were f'n PRAYING! How can anyone stand by and take that?

This is America! I never thought I'd see the day when people stood by and watched student protesters pray in the country that I've given so much for.

I'll vote for RFK Jr. I know he'd never let students pray and not be horribly punished and tortured.

Did you even read the quoted post? This poor person, "Tired Kitten" had to move from Iran to Germany so that she could complain about people praying at UT Austin. And you're still sitting there behind your keyboard doing nothing? Are your pronouns "weakster and "chicken"?

 

When you walk around in the Old City in Jerusalem, you move from quarter to quarter. There's a Jewish quarter, a Muslim quarter, a Christian quarter, and an Armenian quarter. The Jewish quarter is like being in a western mall -- the shopkeepers are nice, it's clean, the products are laid out in an organized way, prices are displayed, etc. The Muslim quarter is disgusting and nasty. People grab your arm to pull you into their store, they shout at you, the price discovery process is like a hostile flea market, children are "working" in the store, products are displayed all over the ground and in the aisles -- it's just nasty. It's quite a contrast in cultures.

I mean, we've got our challenges in this country with groups that struggle to play nice in the sandbox and succeed in society, but I truly feel sorry for the Jews in Israel because their neighbors are ROUGH.

I know. How are we going to know who to channel our outrage at, if they aren't wearing clothing from an unfamiliar culture? "Tired Kitten" didn't travel from Iran to Germany to complain about people praying in Austin to get thrown off by them not wearing clothing of which we can make fun.

We've come too far as a society to have difficulty mocking people that are different from what we're used to. This has to end now!
