Crane chose Espada. He made a commitment. Crane is big on public image. Firing Espada now would make Jim look like an idiot owner with no vision at all. A complete dumbass. I understand cutting Abreu at this point way more than firing Espada 25 games into his first season. The team isn’t performing. The players are 90% of the problem. Espada is learning right now. The entire pitching staff is injured. Crane let 3 good bullpen pieces walk. He also probably orders Espada to play the worst hitter in baseball 3 out of 4 games.

The players look like complete zombies out there. Crane needs to just admit the mistake and cut Espada loose before the season gets lost. It may get lost anyway but the coaching needs a jolt. Only problem is I do not trust any internal coaching guys to be interim manager, because I think they all suck too, so I don't really know what to do if Espada gets fired, bring in Joe Maddon off the couch?
Didn’t look good on Crane when he didn’t resign Click after winning a WS. His image will take a huge hit either way if he let Espada sank this team to the bottom. Next 3 games should determined if Espada has a job or not by Monday.
I thought the bottom of the division was the context. But ok, 4th from the bottom overall makes me feel better.
