Whatever keeps YOU motivated is what is optimal. Everyone has different time requirements, wants and needs. It's awesome that you're crafting your own journey.

    Appreciate that!

I'm implementing changes that I hope can last a lifetime. It started with fixing an ADHD issue. I honestly think that has been, and will be, the biggest issue. The rest of it has been easy so far.

Identifying and dealing with your biggest sticking points are paramount for sustained success. ADHD is no joke.

Got this today. Did a quick 20 minute workout (workouts are quicker on this thing, due to one rep to failure), and let me tell you, I feel weak, but got a great pump.

Just screwing around on it while watching the draft now. This thing is awesome. Exactly what I needed.

    Doing curls right now.

Work has a contest of sorts to be active 150
Minutes a week for 10 weeks straight. Did that, rewarded myself with a new piece of equipment:

Really happy with it. Moving on from some other equipment too, a total body machine, squat rack and power tower. This is wayyyy more stable than the power tower so pull ups and dips are easier. It’s also got the double pulley so I can do a lot more weight on different exercises. And the landmine thing, I’ve never used one but it’s super nice. Came with attachments too… and it was on sale! Considering I’ll probably make a bill off the old equipment it was only like $$250. Took like 2 hours and 2 people to assemble but I’m super happy with it. I did an hour today and I’m sore as hell but I’m already pumped up to get back in the lab tomorrow.

The landmine thing is a nice addition. Lots you can do with that.

Only lifted a couple dozen times in my life. I’ve always hated it and any kind of straight “exercise” or strength training. I just want to play sports. Soccer, basketball, football when I was younger. Now I’m down to two days of basketball a week and that’s it. And my body is breaking down fast …

I need to get into yoga or some core training, it’s just so boring to just do exercises, eg lifting, crunches, squats etc.

Not sure exactly how old you are but it sounds like you’re getting to a point where you need to step up your overall health game- sleep, diet and regular workouts. Since you do running/agility sports, lifting might not be your prime focus if you want to keep doing those frequently.

I would start with some cardio work like swimming, biking or running. Then do body weight exercises for resistance work. Try doing just a small number of sit-ups, pushups and dips (with chairs). Then work your way up. The gains at first should be fast which will help motivate you.

Yeahhhh I didn’t even know but I looked up some basics it’s a really useful tool in the toolbox.

I got in a solid workout yesterday. I’m feeling it today but I’ll probably get back in there. The ragecage as I’ve come to call it, is sweet. I should start doing a daily pic and make a montage in a year.

I started concentrating on eating foods that are high in protein to calorie ratio. Not really concentrating on anything else, other than a rudimentary daily calorie count in my head so that I stay at a large deficit (like 2,000 to 2,500 at least). Trying to get roughly 140 g of protein a day on my brain calculator, as well.

I feel like I've already seen gains after a week. The downside is that my weight loss has somewhat stalled. I'm probably only down 4 lbs in the last two weeks. Before that, I was cruising.

I feel like I'm finally hitting my stride on finding lifetime habit changes that are easy to implement.

Oh, and anabolic ice cream, as they call it, helps. I make it in my food processor every night.

I've been thinking the same - that I should take a pic every Monday to chart my progress, but I hate selfies and I am just starting to get comfortable looking at myself with my shirt off lol.

What kind of HIIT are you guys doing?

I used to do a lot of Insanity, but I don't have the videos anymore. I assume they can be found online still, but is that still the best thing out there?

Just thought I would give an update to keep the thread alive.

Latest push-up results (from cold): 3 sets - 36 reps, 30 reps, and 37 reps (my weight has gone up, too, yet was able to increase gains to overcome; best push-up results ever for me)

Powerlifting: BowFlex incline bench press - 400 pounds power rods (all of them) - 10 reps (my max (done on 3rd set of exercise)); you wanna see some tension and hear some creaking, man...lol; again, best results ever for this lift.

    Groot is strong!

I'm a big fan of kettlebells. Swings are a great warmup to get the body loose and the heart rate going.

How are the lift bros doing out there? I've been going hard in the paint since getting this new setup. Ragecage mode activated, I haven't been this motivated in 15 years.

I'm actually lifting exclusively with resistance bands right now, as it offers me the most versatility and is the easiest on my joints. I'm actually doing more of the big, compound lifts than I have in quite a while, thanks to it.

I've finally got my nutrition dialed in, which is the biggest key of all. Seeing wonderful results. I'm down about 45 pounds in about 2 and a half months, while also putting on muscle. My goal is to lose another 25 pounds at least before I start a mini bulk phase.

    Nah, I ordered Harambe System.

It's a little pricey, but great quality. I really like it.
