Joe is making all the wrong moves. Pitching Hader again while behind in the 9th and sending Jose Abreu out there to bat was downright stupid.
There is enough of a sample size here that we can't dismiss Hader's struggles as some minor bump in the road. Hader's poor performance in many of his outings so far is a serious problem for the Astros. If he (and Pressly) don't figure it out VERY soon, this season is likely a lost cause. I continue to be underwhelmed with Espada. I have a major problem with how he's using the pitching staff, especially the bullpen. Flat-out misusing Hader over and over again. And I'm starting to get a "Jerry Jones" vibe from Crane, and not in a good way.
Can't believe they signed Hader for 5 years. 5 YEARS. This may J. Abreu all over again. and no I wasn't a fan of the signing at the time. I wanted more subtle, savvier moves to patch up middle relief which is what Click would've done. Not chasing big names like the Yankees.
I'm starting to worry about Espada now, if I'm being honest. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt early, and it's NOT his fault that ourstarters are all hurt, but some of these in game decisions are just bad.
