He's irredeemably stupid and should have been cut immediately after he left that game at halftime last season, but I have no doubt that he will be back in the league. He never should have been a PG, and he never should have played under a coach as weak as Silas. A stronger coach and an organization who won't pander to him would do him a lot of good. And he obviously needs to mature. I'm not sure if he can do that though. He'll either be a player in the league or in prison or dead 5 years from now.
I can tell you that Porter would have an encounter with Ime Udoker when things did not go well. How that ended you can play it in your head. Keep drinking but do not drive in your state.
In total, Porter has three more games until the end of the regular season and then he might get to play two more in the playoffs if his team sneaks into the 8th spot of the 12-team league and facing off heavily favoured Panathinaikos. Good luck with playing only a handful games.
Same type of thread instead of kpj it’s “harden” or some other bad for the locker room type…. Why can’t we get these threads for cp3?
He shot 36% from 3 which is about the league median (Rockets as a team are 35%) - and as for handles & court vision, he averaged a horrible 5.9/3.2 a/to ratio, despite being one of the league leaders in dribbling per touch. His replacement FVV is 37.8% 8.1/1.7. Aaron Holiday is 39% 1.6/0.7. I can honestly attest that after 2+ years of watching Kevin Porter Jr, neither I nor any neutral observer, to the extent they cared, came out of a Rockets game saying " wow that Kevin Porter Jr has elite court vision" - it simply did not ever happen. Once. To anyone.
HARD PASS!! The "Culture Reset" started the moment he no longer was on the team!! There are other ways to replace his skillset without compromising your moral integrity! Don't bother replying to my post..... It's still going to be a HARD PASS from me! #EMobley'sDad Go Rockets!!! ....... ....... .......
I can't trust people who think guys like KPJ, Wood, Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony are good for basketball (style of basketball)
Ignoring the fact that he's a total POS and I'm very glad he's no longer a Rocket--his presence would have cut into Amen's opportunities, and Amen is already a more impactful player on winning with much greater upside. We're better off with KPJ gone, in every way.
I'm of the belief that the Fred VanVleet signing at such a high dollar amount set KPj off and his sulking would have could have been avoided. He would have just been in the hotel room with that beautiful babe instead of trying to staying out drinking....? solo?.......? depression sign? If the Rockets signed true outside hired gun shooters in free agency, Green and KPj would have sliced and diced opposing defenses. Team would have had more success with Cam Johnson, Seth Curry, Naz Reid, Brook Lopez.........Amen and Cam Whitmore. **All of Jalen Green, KPj, Amen and Cam Whitmore would have been pick your poison, send extra defenders to the lane or defend the open 3-point shooter(s). But KPj probably would have sabotaged his success one way or another. Troubled kids growing up without a dad often do. His mistake was not hiring a handler or two who are men that can handle the situation (s).
I have receipts before the incident showing the Rockets should trade KPj fast (to Magic) and get what they can because the situation was going to be toxic. He was going to clock Dillon Brooks or VanVleet for something. It was predictable By the way did anyone else see this video about refs rigging things? I called that too
