I miss the energy and fire Correa and Springer brought. No I don't think we should of paid them what they got, but we have a team full of no belly fire pusses
Let me know when the Astros "start" their season. So far, they are disengaged. I will wait for a "they finally joined the rest of teams" post.
I'm just going to say the obvious... This team desperately needs Brandon Belt. Play him at first against righties. Play Abreu at 1B against lefties and have him dh a couple times a week. Maybe Abreu not playing any back to backs will get something out of him.
The rangers punked us on the way to their WS title last year. Yet, they look like the ones playing with a chip on their shoulder against us. We look like we are on xanax.
A first baseman that hits should be playing for the Astros. Dude has been terrible. cut your losses and move on
Who is old besides Abreu? Pressly is the biggest disappointment so far. Bregman typically sucks in April. Besides Yordan, everyone else is playing at/near how they normally play. Bregs shouldn't be batting cleanup though. There's been a few bad managerial decisions, tough luck, and good competition. Everything negative except Abreu will likely turn positive by May. Stros are digging a hole no doubt, but we're barely 10 games into the season.
Wonder if the lineup changes also is affecting the hitters. Being in spots they aren't used to? I know that doesn't explain the imploding bullpen.
Actually the most eye opening moment of the 2024 season is the fact that we held one of the best hitting lineups in baseball to less than a .100 batting average and STILL managed to lose 1 of the 3 games.
