Who was the safety net last year? The guy who started at catcher in the two final games of the ALCS where our pitchers gave up 20 runs? The guy who caught every one of Framber’s terrible starts the second half of the season? The guy who caught most of Javier’s disappointing starts? Our pitching staff regressed as a whole last year with the person you are calling a safety net being the main catcher and probably being the player who was coming up with all of the pitching game plans, along with the pitching coaches. It is absurd to even imply that Yainer shouldn’t have been getting most of the starts at catcher last year after the first part of the season. Our pitching staff could’ve imploded just as easily with Yanier as it did with Maldy catching.
I am glad we are finally in the win column. Blanco was a real surprise. Outstanding game! But looking ahead, I think it would be a real mistake to wait on JV, Lance and Garcia to fix the pitching. We need better middle relief NOW! IDK about 1B either. Both Singleton and Abreu seem short of the task at hand.
Clearly Espada should be fired since he had our best starting pitcher in the 5th spot of the rotation....
Astros ERA vs Yankees was 4.50, not good, but not terrible considering NYY getting multiple bloop hits every game. One of those, Singleton dropped which was NOT called an error. After 5 games, the ERA is now 3.60 and Diaz is hitting almost 1300 OPS (.929 entering yesterday). Dusty started Maldo every playoff game except one and Diaz got 80% of his AB's at DH and PH -- both areas where he sucked all season and in the minors. Diaz learned something all right, but nothing you would care to admit.

Seems you could contact the team and request a ticket stub. Once you prove your purchase, they might mail it to you. And perhaps they'd have Blanco sign for you too. If not, just find Ronel next chance you get.
It’s clear you are of the crew that don’t give him credit for winning a WS because he is Black. But praise Hinch for costing 2015, damn near 2017, and costing 2019. You know, the manager who has actually had zero success without the Astros.
Bregman really helping the Astros re-sign him at a more affordable price. You can tell he wants to stay subconsciously.
No coincidence that the Giants, Cubs, and Nats won AFTER Dusty left. Dusty was gifted with Bonds, ruined Wood/Prior, and got lucky with a motivated Rendon and healthy Max and Strausburg.
