Well not letting the other team get a hit is one way not to blow a lead.

Also takes the bullpen out of the equation.

Diaz is his legacy. Our bare minor league system is also part of it.

So I went to bed early thinking the Astros lead would hold up. My wife woke me up and showed me the ESPN app on her phone. I didn't have my glasses, but I could see the Astros were up 10-0 and there was a big picture of Mike Trout. I told her I didn't have my glasses on. She said she couldn't tell me. I had to read it. Based on that and without reading, I said "he's throwing a no-hitter?". She was mad and responded "don't jinx it". I went back to sleep wondering why she was mad at me for jinxing Mike Trout throwing a no hitter. My mind at first was like okay it is impressive that a non-pitcher could be working on a no hitter. Then it hit me that possibly she was talking about Blanco and my mind clicked that maybe the Astros were working on a combined no hitter. I was more shocked by seeing Blanco on the mound when I got my glasses on in the 8th than I was with the possibility of my mind mistakingly thinking Mike Trout was throwing a no hitter.

Let's hope the 10 run jinx isn't in effect. Yordan and Abreu need to come alive

What a gem of an outing.

That felt like one of those vintage Dallas Keuchel / Zack Greinke type of games. The closest things to hits were of the soft contact variety.

Yainer calls a no hitter and mashes two homers...I hate looking backwards on bad stuff but man what could have been different if this stud was the regular starter in the playoffs last year like he should have been.

All this bs about Yainer not being as good with pitchers as the alleged whisperer Maldonado. It was all stupid.

0.98 xERA for his start yesterday. They got nothing off of him.

The lost drafts picks by Manfred played a role, right?

I'd welcome back Luhnow with open arms though.

For sure. Click wasn't horrible. His downfall was that he didn't respect Crane and his baseball IQ/ego

You just ignore the previous 4 games? Diaz struggled in the playoffs at the plate. He was a rookie. Maybe he learned from that experience and now is ready for the responsibility.

Meanwhile, the Yankees were given a “sternly worded letter”, the Red Sox blamed the video intern, and the Dodgers blamed the interpreter.

    **** MLB, **** Robert Manfred.

Thank you for everything GOAT Luhnow.
