[Random inocuous subject youve never given 2 seconds thought] - what's the deal with that? I don't get it?

    - Every Seinfeld joke ever.

Not a big Seinfeld fan but wasnt Seinfeld on a stage doing standup jokes a big part of the show?

The first couple seasons maybe opened and closed with a few seconds of standup but otherwise the show never actually showed him doing material.

The first time I saw Seinfeld he was doing the bit about how the sock escapes the dyer. Laughed so hard. That sold me. This guy is funny. Then he has the balls to pitch a show about nothing. And that hooked me. This guy thinks different, but on an elite level. The rest was comic gold.

Seinfeld stand up was funny. Not great but still funny.

Seinfeld the sitcom was damn funny. Outright hilarious at times.

Seinfeld was one of the few shows that actually got better as time when on. The first 2 seasons weren't that great IMO, but the last 7 were absolute genius. It was like watching 3 hilarious shows at the same time - The George Show, The Elaine Show and the Kramer Show.

The Seinfeld universe is so good it's been on television from 1989-2024 -- that's a good run.

Looks like it wants to be a Wes Anderson movie. That's a dangerous place to go, even if you like Wes Anderson.

Reminds me of a great short story by Max Apple (who used to teach writing at Rice): "The oranging of America." It fictionalized an epic battle between Howard Johnson and Walt Disney. Very funny. Set in a similar universe to this Seinfeld thing.
