I have noticed lately that if you aren’t just about 100% on board the Jalen hype train that you are lumped into this big group where everyone is automatically regarded as another Bobbythegreat level Jalen hater.
I agree with this. It's been a month and over 15 games. Maybe the Jalen Party ends and he stops shooting like Steph Curry, but I'm sure he won't regress back the dude getting benched in 4rth quarter either.
It's because the haters were so quick to jump to conclusions and hate on Green when he played bad but now act like they're the most well reasoned fans when he is playing great. A lot of the posts here were pretty vile and people were blaming him for losses even if it wasn't his fault or he played ok.
Yeah, but it's not just simply changing their minds. They were really dismissing Green before, almost even laughing a little. But it's the hypocrisy. That's really the worst part of it. The hypocrisy. OK, I'll stop.
Right there was some of that, but it wasn’t everyone. There were plenty of valid criticisms that weren’t accompanied with “trade his ass now”.
Nah this is revisionist history, there were a few valid criticisms. The majority were people foaming at the mouth and making guarantees that Jalen's one of the worst players ever and that the team had already moved on from him. You don't get to try and flip the narrative just because all of those people now look foolish.
Sam and Bryce had a lot of good things to say about Jalen and his improvements this month. Starts around 27:47
To be fair, that's a very common 2020s ClutchFans approach, regardless of the player: Go hard with your hater take, then if you fail, do your best to make it sound like you were never a hater, but rather just a sensible fan.
Harden was easily more hated......pre 2020 ish. The 3rd best player in club history on that level. Including media outlets and nationwide other fanbases. Hated for other reasons than not being good enough or having bad games.......
Are we still doing this? He played like crap for the better part of the season. Can we stop pretending that people were hating just for pointing out that he wasn’t playing well? He’s been amazing for a little over a month now, and it’s encouraging af. I’ve been a Rocket fan since long before Jalen was born, and I’ll be a Rocket fan long after Jalen is a Rocket.
the haters sure do like to ridicule folks that use the reasoning man is only 22 and we should b patient. now what u haters? green is still only 22 and he's playing like a top tier player. future is bright for our team.
I will stand my ground on this 100% and say many people, not you per se, but a lot of people, were. Flat. Out. Hating. To some, every loss was on Jalen. I sat around here practically on my own defending jalens progression. He was innefficient and was not playing great, but the signs of improvement WERE there. I argued and argued upon deaf ears about how he was showing signs of better defense, better passing etc.. i consistently got mocked for even thinking about defending him. I got so fed up, with the blatant disrespect he was getting from some of our so called fans. Reading a game thread meant having to navigate nonstop vulgarities slung towards green. Whether it was his femanine nails, his stupid step back, him being a "b*tch, an inefficient chucker, low iq moron, on and on and on it was hate. This stupid revisionist history about about he was just getting valid criticism is blind at best. He was getting some valid criticism, dont get me wrong. But for every comment that was valid, there was 1 or 2 comments just flinging poo on his name/game/character. It was getting absurd and i started calling people out around here because of it which is a bit out of character.
