McMahon thinks Sengun or Green could be traded "for a star"

McMahon is a Texan no? could be local. :D. He has media credential so can be in the postgame interviews if he chooses. He's the designated person for ESPN for southwest division. So even though he was a Mavs guy, technically is responsible for covering Rockets, Grizz...etc for ESPN. Rockets is one of the teams he's assigned to; it's not just a national tv take.

Always depend on the offer. Let's pretend if it was Chet for Sengun and SGA for Jalen green, (which both not likely), but if such an offer comes up, there would at least be a conversation.

Putting player fandom aside, the bigger take-a-way, is that our Front Office is weighing their options more closely. Also could be a warning shot to Green and Sengun's agent during negotiation time. There could be different motives at play.

Might be wishful thinking by other teams.

im tired of people questioning Ime's basketball knowledge. He asked for Lopez because he wasn't sure about Sengun's defense. Sengun would have beat out Lopez eventually. And Rocket didnt offer up Jalen Green. BK asked and Rockets said no.

They should leak Jabari trade rumors so he can average 19/10/ 2 blocks next season, 40% threes.

Just health and the Green leap would have had this team on a 50 win pace even before this streak .

I usually only listen to the audio version. It's on YT. The Rockets part is the final segment. (bookmarked)

Before going to the trade whatever; he was praising the team.

No **** other teams would inquire about the young talent on the Rockets. It's such a non story. I don't know why ESPN reporters have to frame it like it's some type of serious discussion rather than just basic inquiry that every gm does. It's literally their job to always inquire.

Not happening for a while. They'll at least go into next season and see if what Jalen is doing is just a fluke and, if not, if he and Apli can both play at All-Star levels while sharing the floor.

They're another season away from Phase 3 anyway regardless, so it makes no sense to try to rush things.

People won’t like to hear it but Sengun and Green are still “TBD stars”.

Just spitballing, but Embiid and Jaylen Brown are two "stars" that might shake loose. Don't know why the Rockets would go that route though.

I think that's a common belief. Until they actually make a all-star team then they aren't. Sengun was really close this season and showed a long sustainability in doing that. Green is more TBD relative to Sengun.

"Budding stars" would be a more apt term.

It didn't sound like he was breaking some news, they were just talking about the Rockets. It's more on the aggregators, who tweet it like it was.

If it was news they wanted scoop on, they would have tweet it themselves, written in an article, or funnel it through ESPN Woj.

Tatum in Rocket red would cause meltdowns in Houston and Boston..

I said the same thing a week or two ago. Who's out there? Jokic, no! Embiid, no! AD, no! Ja, no! Giannas, no! Trey, no!

The only one I can see is Tatum, if Boston doesn't make it this yr or if the Rockets LOVE someone in the draft but its a weak draft. So, I just don't see it.

It'll be best to add to the bench, get everyone back healthy and run it back next yr.

    He emphasized/prefaced/hedged repeatedly with “I’m just guessing…”

You hypeed up McMahon’s relevance only to ignore what he says? He didn’t even go through their contract situations or the fact the Rockets can actually max both bc of the FVV option.

YOU DONT TRADE 21 y/o stars under contract unless you already have 2 max on your roster (OKC;Harden)

They can't afford Jalen now. He is the star.
