    I can’t conceptualize this stuff at all. I like reading and hearing about it, but I don’t get it at all. Feels like it’s just an idea or a dream but that it’s actually a physical thing is just baffling. The universe is insanely cool.

    The universe is so beyond our everyday human experience. For example the central black hole of our galaxy is 4.3 million times the mass of our sun. And that is just one galaxy among billions.

    Same thing with time. Imagine how long a minute is. A day, a year, even 100 years...no problem.

    Imagine 13 billion years--we don't have the capacity.

    A million seconds is (about) 11 days, a billion seconds is 30 years, and a trillion seconds is 32,000 years.

    13 billion seconds is 412 years.

    I always thought this was one of the better ways to get a concept of the vastness of time.
