I did not! I said he is categorizing all immigrants as poison, crazy mental patients, murderers, cartel, and poisoning the blood of our country. I blamed him for pushing his MAGA puppets into voting against any border funding while Biden is President.

The funny thing is less than 15% of house Republicans voted for the infrastructure bill which has tens of billions to fix bad bridges. None of these dipshit Republicans care about the state of our country. It's all a game

There's a group of teenage acting boys on here who would love that. They can laugh together with their white hoods in their circle jerk circle.

Yeah - sorry, but Baltimore is an absolute American **** hole in just about every way imaginable.

I would rather live in the North Lawndale part of Chicago than most parts of Baltimore - where folks eat cigarettes for breakfast.

this event likely had nothing to do with the City of Baltimore itself, its government, nor with the port, and its operations.

There was an electrical failure on the ship. why will be interesting.

wrt the bridge, it functioned as designed, and it was never designed to take a direct hit from a massive cargo ship.

Violent crime is down by almost 35% y/y and just last month saw a 40% decrease in homicides from the previous month. Have you done any research recently

Every major city has "dangerous" parts - the problem with Baltimore is that IT IS the dangerous part....

The crime rate is 6 times the US national average.

The murder rate is the second worst in the USA.

The robbery rate is the worst in the USA.

Over the last 45 years, the murder rate in Baltimore has tripled - even though the national average has gone down nearly 50% in that same time period.

Are there areas of Baltimore that are safer? Sure there are, the crime rate in Baltimore is not close to uniform. It isn't as stark as Chicago (which at this point is really 2 cities - one that is as safe as any Western European city and one that is on par with Caracas) but it is starker than Houston or some other cities.

As for Philadelphia - there are terrible areas, but the chance of you being a crime victim is like 60% higher in Baltimore.

Baltimore is a **** hole - we are in March of 2024........ in 2023 there were like 265 homicides in a city that has lost over 100,000 residents over the last 10-15 years.

Baltimore has a very high crime rate, it has a lot of poor black residents that live surrounded by violent crime.

Also - the trend has been for homicides to go down after the COVID spike.... and even with there being less homicides in 2023 than 2022, doesn't change the fact that over 250 homicides in a city with less than 600K in it, is a lot.

I didn't think it did - I just responded to someone claiming that Baltimore isn't dangerous. It has been a very dangerous place for decades - and it still is very dangerous, with a lot of income inequality and other issues..... I am not blaming Democrats or the Republicans, and I am not even really blaming the local politicians - my point is claiming that Baltimore isn't a dangerous play is false.

Why are you looking at 2023 stats? 2024 has been the safest year for Baltimore since 2015... the feds have given them billions of dollars and helped enhance their red flag laws which is working

Why? Because it is March.... we essentially have 2.5 months of date in 2024.... compared the much larger sample sizes of the last few years. Homicides are down in Baltimore in 2023 and the beginning of 2024 - but the number of homicides in a city the size of Baltimore is NOT anything but terrible.

Also - what they do not tell you is that part of why the homicides are down in 2023-2024 is that the ER services around the country are changing how they handle gun shot victims in the ER, emulating what Chicago does.
