Brooks gets maybe 2 post ups a game if that with 2nd unit - come on man

it’s like calling 2 NFL offensive schemes the same because they both have a draw or WR screen play

This has been going on for like 5 pages and I'm pretty sure yall are saying mostly the same thing but in different words. We haven't installed a new offense, its the same playbook, its all the same concepts. We've just shifted the distribution of plays. We used to run 1-5 pnr more than we do now, we used to run more post ups. Those plays have to be made up somewhere else. So we have more of the same plays that we ran before. Not new plays, not new concepts, just a bit more of the same concepts. More horns, a bit more fast break, a bit more Jalen iso, a bit more Jalen pnr. Also more 5 out, which we played before with Jeff Green, but obviously it's our starting lineup now. But all the same plays we've run all season. Just a shifted distribution of the same plays and same ideas. Depending on your perspective you can call this "the same offense" or "a new offense." I don't think we need to continue arguing about it.

Agreed, Sengun is not fast but he has a quick first step and dribble. If he improves his FG% from mid range and beyond, he will have a defender get closer when he receives the ball.

The current issue is, the defender does not really get close to Sengun when is far from basket because he expects Sengun to drive to basket or pass.
Sengun tries multiple shot fakes from distance within the same possession, but usually does not get any response by the defender.

If his range improves, he will get a defender closer to him when he first receives the ball. This will improve his success driving to the basket as well. Most of his turnovers now happen when he tries to dribble when the defender is expecting him to dribble.

yes but it started as what else has changed - the spacing has changed , which allows more drives per game for JG - pace has increased and Ime already said at All Star Break he wanted 40+ 3s a game … so offensive mindset has changed

He doesn’t even want to acknowledge that because he feels it’s a slight to Alpi which it isn’t - they just adapted and it’s so happens to be working at a high level (OKC will be a good test)

Its important for Sengun to be able to initiate from the high post and even from the 3 point line to break the pattern. Defenses wait for the entry pass into the post and then swarm Alpy with double teams. Starting him from the outside will also allow for the penetrators to have room to operate as well as giving Sengun the ability to create on the bounce with his gravity and also recognize the double early. He's got a decent enough shot with added practice he can help himself, but also the whole team by adding that aspect to his game.

The Rockets have been playing better without Sengun. That’s not even debatable. The question is will the Rockets be even better when Sengun returns.

Newlin, we have been roughly 2 weeks without him.......I think we will manage fine in the next 5 years......the question begs if fine is enough or do we strive for excellence.....and championships.....you still have to make couple major moves for that IMHO...

The Celtics never stopped making moves even with Tatum and Brown.

Absolutely. If Alp wants to be a superstar he has to develop range and consistent 3. It will help Jalen, and the rest of the team.

Ok sport. Only the ones that know they have lost resort to claiming someone has a burner when you’re wrong.
Maybe Gfab-babyboi is yours? Sorry not all of us need a burner to validate ourselves.
