    Breaking from the BBC
    https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-68658973

    Summary
    1. The UN Security Council has passed a resolution calling for an "immediate ceasefire" in Gaza
    2. In a change in position, the US refrained from vetoing the measure, which also calls for the release of hostages
    3. The US move signals divergence with Israel - although the White House insists it's not a policy shift
    4. In response, Israel has cancelled its delegation's planned visit to the White House this week
    5. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls it a "clear retreat" from the previous US position
    6. The US says it's "very disappointed" by the cancelled visit - but says a separate visit by Israel's defence minister will go ahead
    7. The Security Council resolution was approved by 14 votes to none, with one abstention - from the US

If he won’t, the Israelis will find a new leader who will. As unpopular as Bibi is, his actions in Gaza and West Bank are incredibly popular among his Jewish constituents.

Though I think UN resolutions are symbolic and toothless, Bibi sandbagging in the desert only begs the question:

How much longer will it take the IDF to root out Hamas in Gaza?

    It better be soon.

The Biden admin did the right thing. They should publicly now have a stance that Netanyahu can go fck himself. Israel needs to call a ceasefire, and let Hamas be the ones to break it if they do.

There is no option for completely wiping Palestine off the map. It'll never happen in a way that doesn't ultimately lead to Israel then being a pariah on the world stage for generations. This only ends in a two state solution. Protect your existing territory. Fortify your homeland much better, and build alliances with other Western countries to support efforts to retaliate to terrorist attacks if they happen again.

On Netanyahu.... the guy will do everything he can, regardless of how nice you are, to get Trump back in the White House. He'll do ANYTHING. Why the hell would you go to bat for the guy when he is going to if he isn't already actively trying to assist in the United States ceasing to be a Democracy.

Fck Him. You are doing Israel a favor by opposing his war efforts which will ultimately make them LESS safe, and give them more enemies in the region who are a hell of alot more militarily capable than Hamas.

LOL traitors. What a sorry sack of trash you folks truly are. The admin has given unconditional support to Israel despite massive protests and he allows a non binding resolution to pass and you dipshits claim they're traitors.

Nothing is ever too good for you folks

Hamas was funded and paid for by bibi to sow divisions with the Palestinians. Don't ever forget

The us position isn't that the IDF doesn't finish off hamas. It's that they do while also allowing aid into Northern Gaza so we don't starve millions of folks. You can chew gum and walk at the same time

The potential famine is a feature, not a bug, to the Israelis supporting the war.
