This is why we need to get Jalen to the offseason. Dude turns into a beast as soon as March hits. The Jalen must flow. Go get get 'em, Black Mumble.
More so than the child is his ability to hit higher % at the rim/3pt with his mid range looking more polished When he was struggling back early on he seemed to have like 5 diff body motions on his shot, especially from 3 and his T-ball seemed off on release Now current version has his body squared upright like the R Allen/Klay etc type snipers and his follow thru wrist action has him Clicking Now add the highlight reel plays with the noble demands of Udoka, you have a confident player who went from alleged scrub/bust (fluke) to now on the verge of getting b2b WC-POW with this recent 6 game fluke stretch, while inching closer to play-in with the flukester All hail the King of Flukes........JG4 (the new Taye Diggs)
The competition has been weak but that is not really important. You can see the improvement in a lot of different parts of game. It is not just his shot is falling. Next, we need to see how he reacts when his shot is not falling or when he faces tougher opponents. He might struggle but overall there is improvement for sure. His consistency next season will be the main indicator for his future. After all these great games, his season averages are still the same as previous years or even worse. Now it is time to show a meaningful improvement over a whole season.
Trade him while we can get a return. He lays up at the start of EVERY season. This flash doesn’t take away the beginning of EVERY season. He was being called a bust because he was. Let another team pay him. Judging by his actions he is going to suck as soon as the extension is signed. Really don’t need or want Green as a Rocket. Please don’t be fooled into thinking Jalen Green is more than glorified 6th man. The moment he gets paid he will go be back to his un-worthy self. Why wouldn’t he? It’s the same thing every year. If Stone doesn’t incentivize his contract it will be the end before it starts of our championship run.
The team has been playing very well, so I am not going to just address one player. just like when everyone was talking about Jalen Green when he was averaging 13 pts or 17 pts a game........and the team was still up and down.....
How dare you address that one player who has been playing well, that would be Blasphemy (no Makaveli needed) at the highest level......
Amin Elhassan and Jason Jackson going off about our Rockets right now on NBA Radio. Basically they're playing great. Possible playin and Jalen is KILLING it!!! Respect!
You talk about him like he’s a 10-year vet and not a 22-yr-old kid who is still developing. “He does this EVERY season”, oh, so you mean twice before? And because of that you are so absurdly overconfident in your own opinion that you speak in absolutes and act like a 22-yr-old kid is a finished product? Ridiculous. Trading Jalen after the light might’ve finally turned on would be catastrophically stupid, and you’re here confidently calling for it.
1) I'm a Rockets fan first, player fan next 2) For those singing the narrative that Jalen does this every year after the ASB, if you can't tell the difference between this Jalen and the 2 previous years, I have zero respect for your basketball IQ 3) As much as I like Sengun, Jalen has the highest ceiling of anyone on the team. 4) Jalen just turned 22, Ime is the 1st coach and best coach he's ever had. He's taken Jalen and has taught him to play team ball and not KPJ & JG ball. 5) An example of this is his much improved defense and effort on that side of the ball plus his involving his teammates when he has the ball. 6) You don't have Shaq and ask him to play on the 3 point line, you don't take Jalen who is a thoroughbred with Amen and ask them to play a slow, grind it out game. Let the young guys run. 7) Biggest issue is how do you give enough minutes to Jalen, Amen, Cam, Dylan and Eason moving forward, not if they'll mesh with Sengun or not. You want to optimize their development, does Dylan get as many minutes as he's getting now and will he be happy with less usage??
This is by far the most encouraging thing about this stretch. In the previous years it mostly felt the same except his shots were going in. The way Jalen has been playing these last 15 games is something totally different.
Yeah, cus stepping up at the end of the season is something you don't want. It's exactly what you want to see.
