I read an interesting comparison of the logic of denying the number of dead Gazans and of denying the number of dead Jewish people during the holocaust and the intended goal for both actions.

I can’t remember where I even saw it. But the gist was the logic of dismissing the 30000+ dead Palestinians or claiming there were much fewer civilians in the dead is the same type of denialism that is used in the holocaust to say 6 million Jews were not actually killed by the Nazis but if the number is that high it is from natural causes. In both cases, the desire to dismiss the deaths comes from a hatred of the group being killed.

I am giving up on this thread and conflict. Either Israel annexes Gaza and West Bank and displaces the Arabs living there or the conflict gets postponed another 1-5 years until it flares up again. Or the Palestinians manage to displace the Israelis which would lead to nuclear retaliation.

 

Has anyone asked @AroundTheWorld why bibi refuses to speak and calm the hostages families? No meetings no contact no nothing. Let me guess? Hamas is forcing bibi not to speak to them right ?

There are many innocent people being killed - many civilians that have had no involvement in this other than being born in this region or at worst being indifferent to which side is worse.

However - this is also a war of propaganda and there are supporters of Hamas and some of those aid Hamas or will even take arms to support Hamas…. and likewise, I agree with you that civil leaders had to feign support of Hamas at best or actually are Hamas fighters at worst.

There are lots of shitty things happening in Gaza - but the idea that every scenario at a micro level is black and white is not feasible.

 

A long list of weapons they want to receive from the US? The current Israeli power brokers can **** the hell off. If they want US weapons and technology, then they need to realize the world they occupy.

Israel is used to being able to unopposed have the ear of both political parties because there was really no one opposing them. That isn’t the case anymore. The Nancy Pelosi’s of the world are old and now everything for Israel from the US should be conditioned on certain understandings - like it is for everyone else.

 

“Civilian casualty numbers” are not being reported, as is well known.
