Members of Congress including people like Josh Hawley who supported overturning the election were fleeing for their lives. Even Senators like Ted Cruz acknowledged how dangerous and damaging it was what happened on January 6 and that the people who did should be held accountable. We saw all of this play out in real time live. This was not a peaceful protest. This was not a tourist trip. The people who did it were no heros, they are not hostages.
