Davis won his arbitration for $6.9 million but he was released. Giants only had to pay $1.1 million for the 30 day buyout since it wasn't a signed contract. He was originally offered $6.55 million by the Giants. Pretty shitty deal on that. You win the case but the team doesn't have to abide by it.
Jesus Christ. What the hell you trying to get that little 350k extra for? And it seems petty the Giants said **** off for that little bit of difference. Salty much?
Crazy I know. I mean he's 31. Wonder why he and/or his agent thought $6.4 (last real contract offered by the Giants) wasn't enough. Especially since he made only $4.2 mil last year and has been injured a ton in his career.
I think 6.4 was around what the Giants offered in arbitration. JD asked for 6.9 and won and then got released and got paid 1.1 million. If he would have just accepted the Giants offer he would have made that offer guaranteed.
But to be fair, he probably didn't know they were signing Chapman. Had he known he would have gotten the boot because they were after him, perhaps he would have accepted the Giants offer.
I didn't know that was even possible. Kind of weird they even tendered him in the first place. What a way to piss away $1.1M while also short changing the player's market by only making available this late into FA.
This was a weird situation where they signed Chapman during the process and didn't need Davis anymore and the market being strange where teams are spending a billion or so less this season.
I was on Reddit and didn't realize so many support Bauer. A bunch of guys that want to lick Trump and Tate's nuts probably.
I’m not going to comment on anything political on this site but literally 9/10 dudes support Tyler Bauer. At least that is how it seems
