My only disagreement with you is that there are plenty of coaches who can make this system work for Sengun and our wing players. I’m not ready to write off Udoka yet like that. We can move Jalen but if we get a star wing they would have clout and Udoka won’t survive this mistake again. Easier solution? Do what you can. Why be principled when we just want more baskets. There’s a way to do it without dismantling anything we’re doing. Just run more, move more and put non shooters in better positions/rotations. Why would we not do that now that trade deadline has passed and we are chasing play ins? I can’t understand that. If for no other reason that to raise Greens trade value.
I’m hoping with the deadline having passed and being off a week to evaluate things, we will see some different looks for the remainder of the season. Status quo would be a major disappointment.
Yeah it’s either they make some system changes or start Cam, I’m also tired of people hoping our shooters just miraculously improve out of the blue.
That’s not a definition. That’s who you think is a bust. You clearly have not defined what a bust means to you.
I don’t think he is a bust, just not worthy of the number 2 pick. He has a role in the league just not as a first option. DD
If Stone isn't willing to admit he was wrong and move on from Jalen, then he should be fired and replaced with someone who is. We have shackled ourselves to a corpse.
For what? Y'all hate on him saying he's bad then act surprised when no one wants him. Stone literally tried to trade him at the trade deadline but Nets said no. It's better to let Jalen play it out and see if he can improve especially when his value is at an all time low.
Then trade him for WHATEVER you can get. It would be addition by subtraction, because Jalen is actively hurting the team. We'd be better if we cut him man. And, however low his value is now, it is only going to go down.
Is this speculation or did the attempt happen? Stone won't trade Tate into the perfect situation and I'm supposed to believe he was going to trade the no.2 pick away? Stone didn't want to do anything. Probably sexting with Felicia the entire deadline. Which who can blame him.
From the bench. He's played enough as a starter. 197 games and he only got worse in shooting percentage. He still has a bad ASST/TO ratio as well. Just let Cam and Amen get more minutes, and sign a seasoned Vet to start next year at SG, who can shoot well. Jalen won't miraculously be that guy next year. Enough is enough.
I doubt it's a speculation if Marc Stein was the one who reported the trade offer. https://marcstein.substack.com/p/the-latest-from-nba-trade-season-616
Happily eating crow this month - Jalen has figured it out. Ime has unlocked him. Super impressed - definitely doubted we’d ever get here two months ago.
He plays better with an open floor - and no Alpi - so I believe the Org will be forced to trade one of the two unless Alpi - gets a 3pt shot. DD
Udoker literally said in the recent interview that Alpe has not even scratched his ceiling and they are very happy to have him for multiple years.......he is looking forward to it.....(assume contract extension included) Unless Ime is lying of course. The injury is not severe enough to be scared off and Jalen Green could have suffered the same injury if reversed.... It all hinges on Jalen staying to be a 37% volume shooter, I hate that he is high volume.
It’s been clear for a few years that Jalen is not going to be the next big thing for our franchise. Stone seems to have a way of moving forward with the club that is very protective almost to a fault. It’s frustrating to watch because we have passed on so many opportunities to get better just to stay the same and move towards dysfunction. Porter and the rest of the players that couldn’t make other teams in the league were a distraction and excuse for Green lack of achievement.
